David Shaw is overrated and Stanford wins that game in a slug fest only because they're at home.section8 said:

Shaw (or his coaching staff) coached like a bunch of fucktards in the Rose Bowl.

Shaw is a below average game manager IMO. Overall very quality coach but he costs them wins with his often stubborn and suspicious game day coaching.

Shaw's coaching has been good to win a ton of games since Harbaugh left but he shit the bed at least once each year (it seems like once per year): @ UW when UW won the Gameday Championship, the bowl game against Oklahoma State where instead of letting Andrew Luck win the game passing or his running back plow through the defense, he put it all the kicker who missed and then the Rose Bowl last year. MSU was a good team but Stanford had more than enough chances to win.gmo said:Shaw is a below average game manager IMO. It should be interesting if we find out he's over-rated. It'll also be interesting if we find out he's under-rated.
Either way, it'll be interesting. -
Shaw's been a great coach overall in my opinion with the exception that he makes one baffling decision in highly pressured games that become his signature.

Shaw is a very good coach. Stanford prides themselves on being bigger, smarter, and tougher. He does sometimes make questionable decisions in high pressure situations. He even did against UW when he tried the bootleg on third and one when Peters snuffed that shit out. Their conservative play calling works against them once or twice a year as well.
