Derek, you know a lot about white guilt. Why don't you write a book on it?

Did Obama ever make a comment about the white college baseball player who was shot and killed by three black teens in Oklahoma because they were bored? Imagine if the race scenario was reversed.

I hate the race issue in the US. It's so overboard. Most of it isn't even a race problem but rather a poverty problem. There are social tiers and that's just the way it is. A white kid growing up in a trailer park with meth heads has the same disadvantages as a black kid growing up in the hood.

I can't believe you don't see the flaw in that argument.
Higher percentage of black kids in the hood than whities in the trailer park?
Yes. It can't be a poverty problem and not a race problem. It doesn't have to be racism. It can just be a racial issue. There is a difference. But to say it's simply poverty and ignore all the racial implications is silly.
    Causation?

Agree. That said, poverty is a bigger problem than racism in this country. If you grow up poor without guidance, you are most likely fucked and will live a shitty life, regardless of color.

  • I don't have the time to read this thread but wanted to add my thoughts as someone that wanted him to win in 2008. I first voted for RR and lastly BC. Where the fuck were John Wilkes Booth relatives when they were needed in 2012. I though Bush Jr was bad until my white guilt got the best of me.
