Is Fisch really that good of a recruiter? Everyone says so but I’m worried it’s a lot of groupthink.
This is a fair question for now.
I think he puts in more effort and also hires guys that are more savage about it. Regardless with the money we throw out now, we just need to clean up out west. Oregon's and usc can't buy everyone.
We are no longer going up against anyone else out here unless they are out of region. There's enough talent to sign a top 15-20 class every year. I hate that I just said that because I hate recruiting rankings.
I never really saw what Morgan brought to the table anyway.
That's the point. Hecwas hyped up as some kind of master recruiting expert but didn't do shit except help Inoke pull in some mid-3 star DL guys and talk shit on Twitter about not needing high-level recruits
Fisch was asked a bunch about will you stay or are you planning to leave. He answered it well by saying the name of the game is the 12 team CFP, there’s two conferences that matter, and theres 14-16 teams that get in the CFP, UW checks all of those boxes. That’s about it. Now go execute.

This is the reality
There’s really no reason to leave if you have one of those seats and are leading one of those jobs correctly
That’s what is so telling about DeBoer’s move … he had one of those jobs, didn’t invest in its future, and left for a “better” job that he’s assuming will drop him talent in a far easier manner

Someone posted somewhere all the issues AZ had, Fisch had asked for a raise, it was delayed, the contract was limited to 5 years, a whole list of other items that circled back to the poor financial shape the University of AZ is in.
He’s going to talk to his guys and some variation of this will come out. Plus, the kids will be able to monetize their current position. As it relates to roster building, recruit the current Uw team, then let it play out.
I believe him that he’s going to be focused on 2025. He’s got a contract and institution that will let him and leads to sustainable success.

State laws limits to 5 years
I’ve been vocal on Twitter/X about not hiring a coach because of what he can bring via the portal
I won’t be critical of key Arizona guys don’t come
2024 is a transition year full stop
2025 recruiting is huge and so is player development throughout 2024
