Fuck off is my literal response. No gut.

Is there a university worse at "hiring the coordinator" than uw. No thanks.jecornel said:If he takes over what is your gut reaction?

I've been thinking about this.
Honestly, I think it'd be "meh."
On the one hand, you have the consistency of culture, work ethic, offensive philosophy. On the other hand, we just got burned by promoting the Lieutenant with no head coaching experience.
Gut instinct: He won't be as bad as Lake, I'm not sure many could be. He also won't be as good as KDB. I'm not sure many could be. -
We can do better than promoting a coordinator.

Fuck that

UW getting played for chumps
If not DeBoer…. It’s gonna be hard for me to give a shit for a little while. -
UW has great history of hiring within, they always workout
-
Not playing board monitor here but I absolutely don't give a fuck about what piece of shit gets hired next
If he's good he's leaving. Or he sucks
Either way it won't be interesting -
Not great.
The way I’m thinking it has basically already happened we are waiting for it to play out. All of this is extremely painful … it is affecting me at work and at home.
I think Grubb could be ok … and by ok I mean 10 wins is ceiling … maybe a miracle we squeak back into playoffs one year. We won’t have the horses to make a deep run. But the norm will be between 6-6 and 9-3.
It may mean semi retirement as a fan…
I went to that game in Houston with highest of hopes for that evening and the future. Right now I feel like a close friend died …
I am hoping for him to stay. But if you could get equal or better money and an easier path to the top how can you blame him. -
What gets me is that Nick retired because Bama is no longer the easier road. His guys portaled all over America and they lost their edge on buying players and don't want to pay to keep them
I didn't march with Sherman to the seas to have some rebel take my football coach -
Caroll or Jedd

Caroll is old as fuck and Jedd is a Florida guy. Tick, tick, tick, Napier. Urban or burn it all down.RTD said:Caroll or Jedd

I would not recommend hiring Grubb for a number of reasons

Absolutely no to Grubb. No holdover coaches even for positional spots.
If Dannen takes him then he's no better than Jen. -
I had a horrible feeling when I watched the Pac-12 Forever Champions video and there was a ton of Grubb it and barely any DB and then again in the following videos. UW is 0-3 from promoting the coordinator. It's kind of like how they couldn't hire a defensive guy like Wilcox after two years of Lake and Donovan.
The only coordinator promotion I can think of working long-term is David Shaw and Harbaugh left the cupboards even stronger than they were in his final season. Deboer has recruited just a bit better than Lake and taken layups in the portal.
Part keeping the guy to maintain continuity is having players you don't want to leave. -
It almost never works out anywhere. Look at what Day has done to Buck.AtomicDawg said:

Coordinator hires work all the time. Just not at uw. It's in our dna.WoolleyDoog said:I had a horrible feeling when I watched the Pac-12 Forever Champions video and there was a ton of Grubb it and barely any DB and then again in the following videos. This.
Three home games, Vegas, New Orleans, and Houston. Time and money commitment was real. If Deboer leaves all it means his view of the season was different than mine. He was playing for a better job. I get it. Basically I will just erase the season from my mind.HuskyJW said:UW getting played for chumps

He'll just leave us in a couple years when the South Dakota State job opens up.

From within? I can only really think of Shaw. Day you can kind of say but he took over a few feet from home plate and is close to having Ohio State back on third. They can also work out very very shortly like Coker and maybe Helfrich because he at least kept the wheels on enough to play for a natty?AtomicDawg said:

I really wonder how good of a move it is with Deboer leaving the shelves completely empty and the portal wide open for any decent player to leave. -
