SPOILER ALERT: this isn’t about the National Championship Game per se, so if you’re a Duck or a Wolverine looking for a schadenfreude post to take a screenshot of, this isn’t it. Trust me, you’ll find ample bulletin board material elsewhere here.

Against my better judgment I didn’t go to the game in Houston or fly back to Seattle to watch this with my DWAG friends. Win or lose, I should’ve been with my people. (Game threads are fine, but it’s not the same.)

There’s nothing more isolating than watching a game like this surrounded by people who don’t care as much as you do.. They were lovely people, but hearing stuff like, “what a great season” and “you have to be so proud of the turn around of the program” or the ultimate dagger to the heart “you guys will be back next year.”

C'est la vie.

I do however want to thank each and every one of you, from the bottom of my cold, purple and gold heart, for helping to make this season so much fun.

Enjoy the offseason, everyone.

XOXO,
DDJ

I was at a family and friend gathering for the first half. I left (luckily a short drive) so I could go be by myself and commiserate with someone (me) who would understand my depression of losing this game. I have already recovered as I did in the prediction thread pick us? to be 13-1. off by one...good post @Doog_de_Jour

I left my buddies place midway through the third. Not even PGOS eternal optimism could keep me watching.

The game plan was awful. Butterfly effect of coaching decisions and team executions finally came home to roost. Penix played a poor game. The defense played OK but gave up 200 yards rushing in the first half and missed tackles just like fucking always this season.

An amazing year, but raises a warranted question about having a generational talent at QB and still losing and how to address that. Obviously no one is expecting to return next year, but DeBoer needs to evaluate Grubb and Inge/Morrell, which I expect he will not until next year.

Damn I was wrong - predicted 14-1, 13-1 or 12-2 with CFP loss

So I obviously predicted 14-1 - as they say knob on

You made it better! I hope you get a dominate Washington program in the next 32 years. You and the program deserve it.

My group text thread was an awful mix of sewage like "what a great season" and "shouldn't they take Penix out since he's hurt." Fuck those guys.

On a positive note, Browning 2.0 takes the reigns.
