Interesting reply to a comment on that video from a guy who, according to a Twitter profile under the same name, lives in Sioux Falls

I heard about this guy Kurtiss Riggs a couple weeks ago and then someone mentioned his name at a Deboer press conference, post signing day maybe? Now vaughnjb in the comments lays out his backstory —

Riggs was Deboer’s QB when they played at Sioux Falls, both of them All Americans and undefeated national champs. Riggs threw 55 TDs and 3 picks

Played QB in France for a year, came back to Sioux Falls, played QB for the inaugural season of the Sioux Falls Storm, an indoor league team, then the next year became their head coach.

Head coach for the next 20 years, retired this past year. Won the championship 11 out of the 20 seasons, streaks of 4 in a row and 6 in a row. Once won 40 games in a row.

Riggs was Deboer’s QB and WR coach for all 5 seasons as head coach at Sioux Falls.

Rumors flying around Sioux Falls that he retired to join DeBoer’s staff at Washington

“Kurtiss is basically a legend in the Sioux Falls coaching ranks. He is thought of as an offensive genius. Love Ryan Grubb and no disrespect to him, but Kurtiss Riggs will be even better.”

The Sioux Falls Storm season ended in early August where he retired after 20 years, he’s wearing a UW shirt here, I would bet that he’s an analyst or helping in some sort of role here already.
