Landed in Houston tonight.. First fuck me moment
I rented a car through Expedia, a place called Easirent. I get there @ 7:30pm it’s in a basement of the Courtyard hotel, no for reals, one guy behind a desk in w/ 10 chairs in front. Me and 3 other guys are waiting( We have appointments) he’s talking to his friend for and hour, says nothing to us. Another fella walks in and grabs a key off the key rack and takes a car? One of the other guys waiting asks him if he could help us and he says “That was my last vehicle of 5”. The client proceeds to start in on a pretty strong profanity laced tirade and dude that looks like Clubber Lang walks out and picks him up and his luggage and runs his ass out the hotel. I ubered to my hotel and ate $185 bucks… He emails me and says I skipped the reservation, Houston is looking like a great place

I rented a car in Hawaii and hit a pothole blowing out the. Ended up needing a tow truck to come change the tire - normal, non rental car cost would be $350 maybe but because it was a rental, it ended up being almost $900.
Tried claiming it on my insurance but that kinda damage isn’t covered. The adjuster asked if I paid for it with a credit card and if so, to contact the issuing bank. Bank covered it for me.
Why? Always go through Costco. Always. [/protip]
I also just never deal with 3rd party vendors for plane tix, hotels or car. I hate Expedia and their 10,000 alter egos. My wife gets caught using them 'by accident' because you really do need to pay attention to the url ... they hire teams of dickheads who are experts at confusing who you're actually dealing with.
For cars, Costco 100. I haven't used them for anything else yet.
Next time Costco, I had not idea they even handled that kind of stuff. Do they handle nightly companionship stuff?
Uber sucks, Lyft is better but in Vegas they jacked prices up so I’d request one from each $10+ dollar difference on more than a few. Game day got silly with prices. Rented through Turo this time, for the first time, and we’ll see how that goes.
