I liked and still like Petersen. I think people are right that he wasn't good enough though. There were plenty of (correct) doubters from the beginning. He was on a downward trajectory at Boise and I'm convinced the reason was his fucked up offense which he refused to change at UW.
Cool guy and great at a lot of things but he was never going to be a great football coach again.

I think getting close to the pinnacle of the game but not pushing through is a more serious offense than mediocrity. No plan to get better either.
I also don't really like him as a media personality or analyst. He is actually rather devoid of personality or insight.
He also had Puka Nacua on the roster and didn't do jack shit with him.
Good organizational leader but no real blueprint for winning big.
