I called for Trice to have a career game. holy shit! He delivered. He was a beast. That dude has NFL GM’s salivating. When he said he wanted to smack Texas I believed it and he did it. He is moving up the charts as an all time great.
The o-line made Texas look pedestrian in pass pro. The designed run play for Penix was a one of Grubb’s better calls of the night. Got just enough out of the run game. I understand Tybo has some speed but I’m leaning for Nixon to get those reps. Tybo just doesn’t seem to be quite there yet. Does Bernard get run at RB if DJ doesn’t play? He was an RB in high school.
Polk’s yardage over/under was 52.5. Blew that shit out of water on one play. That pass and catch was right in front of me and that catch and run was insane.
Like I said Tejas was not ready for the insane ball placement. Demoralizing for a defense.
Bernard’s fumble was in front of me as well and I knew he was going to try and run it. He attempted to snag it with finger tips and run. He saw a lane and has confidence in himself just didn’t work out. Simply can’t have those moments. But I’m a Bernard fan and he can help this team win.
Still can’t get over Penix and his game demeanor. Probably the best I’ve ever seen. Whoever drafts Penix will be my favorite NFL team. He’s the goat. Who in Earth truly believes he shouldn’t have won the Heisman. Knuckle draggers that’s who. Lose media strikes again. His pocket awareness is off the charts. People need to get off the injury angle.
Saw Kenny Mayne at the casino as we were collecting winnings. What cool dude. He stuck up a brief conversation and he was loving game. Total down Earth guy. Cans be rare in the media world.
Loved the stadium, great environment.
LASTLY. Get DJ a NIL deal for next year. It needs to happen. Needs to be sizable. Curious what his NFL grade will look like.
