Kim is constantly looking for somebody to talk to. Way to show your interviewee respect. Poor Mickens.

    Actually, no.

Kim probably has ADD. It's something he can't control. I'll never pick at him for that, only for his hypocrisy and double standards when it comes to doogman and husky football.

It's more than ADD. I know plenty of people with ADD and they don't fidget and twitch like he does. ADD only means you can't pay attention for shit.

This actually happens when you are over-prescribed Adderall (or some other similar stimulant). I know from personal experience. I might have spent more money on Wrigley's then the prescription itself.

An on an aside, the middle-D in ADD is actually a misnomer. Attention Deficit Disorder should actually read Attention Disfunction Disorder. People with ADD also have a unique ability to hyper-focus when they are drawn to something that captivates them.

This thread has gone off the rails. In fairness, I have seen Kim conduct interviews before and he does a good job (when he doesn't have an agenda).

    "does a good job?"

Completely disagree. Did you forget about his first question at Petersen's opening press conference - asking about "access." He also tries embarrassingly hard to be "cool" with recruits, and asking about the favorite meal he will miss is just stupid.

I'm not sure what your standards are for interviews, but by most measurables he sucks.

I get the feeling Kim wasn't supposed to be there? Someone should call security.

That probably explains why he's looking around the room the entire time. He's keeping an eye out for security because he knows he'll get booted. No warning, just gone.

Even in the video, if you look at the questions he asks, there's some decent ones in there.

However, when you walk the line between journalist and trying to be young and hip with the high school kids that the "bizness model" relies upon for news, you gradually lose all credibility for the questions you ask.

There's a reason why someone like Greg Biggins has respect while someone like Kim Jong Vino doesn't.

"when he doesn't have an agenda." You omitted the key part of my quote.

When I used to do interviews at UW ('03-'06) I stood in there with him during post game stuff and it is fair to say I learned a few things from him on how to interview better.

That doesn't mean I think he is a great interviewer and an upstanding guy. After all, the guy stabbed me in the back and sold me down the river. But that doesn't negate things that I saw back in the day.
