I’ve had cracked ribs and I’ve had bruised ribs; bruised are a lot worse. Cracked ribs could be managed with Aleve. Bruised ribs were like getting stabbed every time I breathed heavily. If he was playing then he had cracked ribs, at worst.

Bruised ribs are one of the only things that's actually completely knocked me on my ass. Felt like I was on the edge of drowning 24/7.
