UW “survived” while Oregon “drubbed” SC

No matter UW won by more against SC on the road. The “survived” narrative continued this week too

    What about a neutral field!!!!!!
  • Which is a better performance:

    1. A back and forth close one possession game into the fourth quarter (gave up 28 in a half)

    Or

    2. Leading by 2+ scores from after the 8 min mark of the 3rd Q, only for the box score to seem closer with 2 meaningless TD’s by USC late.

(Gave up less all game than UW did in 1 half)

UW can play this game, too.

Just look at the ESPN win probability throughout both games vs USC and you can understand why one is considered a drubbing and the other is considered surviving.

Also in this context, it means UW “survived” the gaffe and was able to overcome and win despite the potential momentum swing.

If anything it is being complimentary.

Huh? Every one of these I look at says 100%
This is what the well educated amongst us would call a “non sequitur”

    UW education showing through here…

Article is not saying UW was lucky to beat Utah, just that they were able to “survive” the potential upheaval such a gaffe might have cost.

Unfortunately this isn’t ESPN bending over for Penix and declaring his Jesus so it’s not good enough for the perpetually “disrespected” Doogs
