They fired all these board members and upper mgmt. to promote lesbians and obese women, and it backfired. At least they admitted they're very stupid mistake?
I used to LOVE Victoria’s Secret back in college and through most of my 20s. This was the era when the iconic “Angels” were first rolled out - Helena Christensen, Stephanie Seymour, Heidi Klum, and peak Tyra Banks. My roommate and I looked forward to the catalog arriving at the dorm and we’d excitedly pick out what we wanted to order for ourselves (and well, our boyfriends).
That was peak VS. Sexy aspirational models, yes, but the bras, lingerie, and clothes (yes, they actually sold clothes back then), were well made and classy.
Then the brand got diluted. They got greedy and rolled out this PINK line that looked like it was aimed at teenagers, they dropped a bunch of sizes, discontinued swimwear and clothing, and the quality went to absolute SHIT!

That’s why most women stopped buying.
And then they decided that the solution to those strategic errors was woke marketing. 4d chess move.

There's a whole series on Hulu about how Victoria's Secret has been run into the ground and the "woke" campaign was the idiot marketing team trying to overcorrect for some pretty fucked up shit that the company's executives have said over the years and an extremely toxic work environment for employees and the models.
Anyway, it's sad. The company actually had noble beginnings of trying to help men discreetly buy lingerie for their wives/girlfriends through a catalog, which besides Sears, was rare.
I hate it when brands I love get ruined...and that's pretty much all of fashion retailers right now.
