A little Nostalgia last Saturday

The wife had never been to a Husky game, she asked if I wanted to go to the Oregon game and if my two dads wanted to go, a month prior to the game I asked both dads if they wanted to go to a game for old time sake. We had season tickets from the early 80's through Owen. They both agreed to go along with one of their daughters(no pics). We showed up an hour and half before kick, Duck fans were easy to pick out, Grello and Tinfoil, bad tats, arrogant, dew rags, and smelled like bad weed. Stadium was full at kick, there was a buzz and a little nervousness amongst the folks sitting next to us. Nix and Ducks take the field and Duck fan below us gives a "bring it"sign with his hands to our section. It was on, my vocal cords were not tanned, rested, or ready for the upcoming abuse. Our section was standing all game, loud most of the time, a little lull in the 3rd quarter as the ducks gained momentum. Grub went for the kill shot up by 11 and should have pounded the ball, ran clock, and played more calculated. Husky fans love defense, always have, always will. The Defense IMO is not dominant, has holes, the Interior DL is a weak spot, tackling in secondary is suspect. The saving grace is they have a knack for getting a stop when it's really needed. On offense, Rome is a beast, aka Reggie Williams, DJ is a good back, good enough. Polk is really fucking good, Giles is a great change of pace, missing M'cMillian hurt. Oregon's D is good, big and physical line, good athletic coverage guys, Penix flat out made some key throws. Westy is clutch, that scoop catch on 3rd down was huge.

Too much piped in music, not enough band. The constant blaring of tunes was too much. Captain Husky got it rocking. It was nice having alcohol easily available. The overall atmosphere was solid, it wasn't 90's USC, Nebraska, or 00 Miami but it was in top 5-10 for sure. If we had a couple more War Daddies on Defense, the place would have erupted 135 decibel easy if Nix was planted 3-4 times. We love defense, so fuck off. The Go Huskies chant in the tunnels after game were good, fans were appropriate to duck fans and flipped shit as necessary. The wife was impressed with 1st experience, both dads gave a nod of approval after exiting the stadium.

This was a pivotal game....recruiting, game day, upcoming B1G, free pub, swing dick, popping off, it's all part of the experience and it was all there on Saturday. Dare I say, we are back to big tim football
