How does ESPN’s predictor model have both Washington losing to Oregon and Washington at #2 in the playoff predictor?
It’s almost as if it’s total bullshit and some nerds are just stealing their money.
Keeping track of what ESPN “thing” is what is an exercise in futility. This one I think is people picking who their 4 teams are, in which 14 out of 15 picked Washington. Then they have that Allstate playoff predictor which which is the FP+ value. https://www.espn.com/college-football/fpi
FP+ likes UO better than UW, and I guess that Allstate thing does probabilistic modeling of each teams remaining games.
Then there is also SP+ from Bill Connelly which has UW and UO much closer than FP+.
So partially nerds stealing money but more I think ESPN following their create debate strategy to generate clicks and outrage.
