Also, softball is allegedly very worried about mental health having to fly farther than normal. Very worrisome.

It's 100% on the presidents for signing off on the dumbest fucking sports TV idea in history.
Not having any dedicated conference network at all probably preserves the conference.
Not having a million Olympic sports that do nothing but leech money probably preserves the conference.
Also, the idea that Cuog should make the same money as USC, UW etc. FS. -
I think the culture was fucked. You basically had a group of universities that only paid lip service to football and didn't want to deal with it at all. Places like Stanford and Cal basically set the tone.
Places like USC view the situation 180 degrees opposite of the Stanford way.
In the B1G there will be actual institutional alignment for a school like UW. Or at least what the fans want it to be. -
not our problem anymore, thank Buddha.
Like ex-wives that had signed pre-nups, no kids.... see ya. On to hotter and better. -

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that no one, literally no one wants to watch college programming outside of 1.5 sports. Rest draws a 0.0 rating. -
I said it before somewhere but I'm excited for the UW AD to be rubbing elbows with other athlete departments that don't have an AIDS soaked view of sports. I'm hoping there is a full scale reenergizing effect on how UW looks at and invests in their football and basketball programs. I'm hoping new fans emerge. I'm hoping the new conference draws more big money donors out of the woodwork to help make a real charge at this. Lots of ifs in there but these are exciting tims guys. I'm optimistic, until I'm not.Kingdome_Urinals said:I think the culture was fucked. I'm buying some Powerball or Mega something tickets today and we'll know tomorrow if I'm a big money donor or just big.theknowledge said:

Yes. It's the culture shift that UW needs. I think more importantly the president will be among peers like Michigan, Ohio St., Wisconsin, Minnesota, which are great academic institutions but have apeshit sports environments.theknowledge said:

The Cal and Stanford culture is to be embarrassed about football and downplay it.
In Madison, Wisconsin every fucking person has 10 pieces of red Badger sports gear and they celebrate football.
UW football has nothing in common the Bay Area schools. UW is not west coast culture.

I'll watch college sports if I'm at a bar during the day and there's the volleyball final 4 going on but I sure as fuck am not going home and turning that game on nor do I even know it's before walking to the bar. I think 99.9% of all sports fans would say the same thing.gmo said:
