Actually, the program is better in the past 20 years than it was in the 1920's and 1930's glory year. UW has won the row boat Natty 8 times in the past 20 years, compared with 6 total NT's in the 1920's and 1930's.

Yes, if you expand (water down) your best year(s) enough, the adequate performance of the last 20 years does not pale too much when compared to the glory YEAR(s).

The year we (?) beat Hitler v the last complete rowing season (not what they might do this week end). Up or down?

    Thank you.

I looked it up. It is EVEN worse than I thought. UW has one in the past seven years. Pretty good if you are not Washington, DAMMIT.

I guess we need to wait for this year's results because it could become 2 of three which is what UW can be.

UW had a pretty good streak ending in 2015 but that could be considered (ancient) history. So to follow thru with my original post on the subject, we have FALLEN FURTHER than I thought (since I used the wrong comparative years).

    Perspective.

Edit (I guess your poont is we have not fallen off to the extent that Cornell has if we have at all). I do hope we ? kick ass this weekend. That would make 2021 not seem like a fluke. Win or lose, though, the record for the UW (over the past 100 years) is unprecedented.

The reason I post about rowboat is simply because IT IS NOT APPROPRIATE for this bored. If only there were seemingly 100 other boreds where it would be more appropriate. Like a record shop or other sports board.

So, yes, I start poasting shit to yeller because he wants to bring attention to his sports' accomplishments in an inappropriate place and because he actually acknowledges me. Or he used to. Anyway, try as I might to avoid it, I learned something this weekend. Rowboat, even with the devastatingly close "loss" to (we always lose to) Cal - UW rowboat is definitely on the upswing. So while IT HAS UNDISPUTELY FALLEN recently, it is climbing back up.

Congrats, Yella. It is, indeed, a man's sport (but still belongs on another bored).

(for you non rowboat fans, read the article. UW's performance, versus Cal's championship team (which returned intact) improved like 7 seconds.)

I can only interpret that as being on a HUGE upswing.

Man, I thought the therapeutics these days were helping with AIDS but apparently not.

While most row boat content will invariably land on my board, there are some non-football UW sports stories that merit front page status.

100th anniversary of UW's first national title certainly does.

Disagree. BTW, Stalin did away with a "front page" years ago. But I agree, men's rowboat should be seen there once in a while (if it did exist).

When you buy a first class ticket, you can disagree.

Until then, stay down there in steerage.

I literally spat my soup back into my bowl. LOFL.

But the only way that plays a valid part (in this discussion) is if Yella is actually Joe Rantz.

    Otherwise, "I" have beaten Hitler.

No. I don't have to pay for first class to have an opinion. And, if I do, there is NOTHING desirable about first class (or riding in the wheel well).
