Women's tennis has an audience for the eye candy as well as the pace of play which leads to longer points. LPGA has some marginal eye candy, but has a lot of heavy gals too.

Women's tennis has a certain elegance to it as does women's gymnastics and women's ice skating. This is reflected in the TV ratings. Women gymnasts and ice skaters get paid more than the men. I'm guessing that women's grand slam events get ratings at least on par with the men's. Women's golf is like watching women basketball. It's totally different and inferior to the male game and the ratings and commercial marketing reflect that. Accordingly, so does the women's golf purses and endorsements and WNBA salaries.
