The SC abortion ruling keeps paying dividends for the left

They should have refused to hear the case altogether. When misery is surrounding us, crime, high inflation, corruption in the WH and congress, cost of living sky high and the rights of half the country being taken away, most people running for office would take advantage of it. Not Republicans. They stir the hornets nest and piss off one issue voters and lose elections.

What a bunch of fucking idiots.

Wisconsin Supreme Court election: Janet Protasiewicz defeats Dan Kelly to secure liberal majority
Wisconsin Supreme Court will now be controlled by Democrat-backed justices, 4-3, for at least the next two years, after Tuesday elections

Loser issue for the GOP. It's their equivalent of the trannies for the left. The hill they choose to die on over and over and over again.

The YUGE majority of people just DNGAF about abortions relative to the list of services and issues government should avail itself to.

That's not to say abortion is right or that the Throbber necessarily supports it (hi @creepycoug).

It's the economy, stupid. First, foremost and forever.

It's really the only issue the left has to run on, so naturally a loser for the right.

The conservative did not run on the abortion issue. The left spent $14mm the right spent $2. The left ran on lies about abortion and they combine it with gay, tranny, groomer issues so it's not a losing issue for them unless the right fights back with the same amount of money to expose the lies.

Aboration isn’t even in the top 20 of issues for me, but if you’re telling me I have to take a position…

    - No federal ban on abortion services

    - Any girl under the age of 18 should be accompanied by a guardian.

    - No termination procedures after 12 weeks unless in the case of specified potential life threatening medical issues to the mother or baby, or in the rare case of incest.

    - No federal funding for termination procedures. Let the states figure out how they want to fund it.

    - Make the morning after pill/pregnancy tests covered at the federal level at planned parenthood

If the Right did nothing with abortion the Left would still run on it. Don’t kid yourself into believing otherwise.

Agreed, it’s not something I care about really. Both ends of the spectrum are extreme, though the up until birth folks are demonic in my opinion. At least the no abortion people are rooted in something that is seemingly moralistic position. But the people want a terrible economy in exchange for free abortions. Let them have that and cut my taxes since I don’t want or need either.

As long as the GOP is the Washington Generals we might as well not even play the game

The country has changed. The GOP needs to be the party for people who aren't insane and focus on the economy and energy

    Like that Trump loser did

You see what that did to the left

We're still trying to recover from all the damage he did. Just what I'm hearing. Don't twist.

The thing that’s so funny to me is that by overturning R/W the SCOTUS also implies that they have no authority to uphold a federal ban on the practice.

It’s in the states hands…as it should be. If there were an amendment to the constitution outlining a woman’s right to an abortion, or the prohibition of such, we’d be having a much different conversation.

There have been plenty of congresses between R/W that could have spent the political capital to codify but they chose not to, so here we are.

Yeah the lives of children don't matter. Being torn apart in the womb or executed as soon as you are born doesn't matter. The pain inflicted doesn't matter. The psychological trauma for the mother doesn't matter. Barbaric!

Murder a women with a fetus in the womb in a crime and it's two murder charges. But they aren't alive! Quite the dichotomy.

Yeah I think that's the correct legal interpretation. So when you see Patty Murray hammering this issue on TV ads, she must realize that she has dumb voters.
