WTF? A “safety plan” where “student” agreed to a pay down at the start of every school day?
1. What was he doing enrolled in a school? 2. How’d that “safety plan” work out? 3. What dimwit came up with the “safety plan” idea? 4. The dimwit should be held accountable.
Weird how there has been so little coverage of it in the press.
One thing that needs to change is the restriction on releasing arrest records of minors. If you have been arrested for a felony the public has a right to know. If the public knew about how many minors and adults were running around when they should be in jail, then things might change. Just like a sex offender, I'd want to know if my kid was going to school with a feral animal and why.

A lot of this story doesn't make sense. The student was never found with a gun in the past, but they knew enough to pat him down every morning?? Does that mean he made threats? Online? Where did he get the gun? The day of, the article says he was searched and a gun was found and retrieved. How did the shooting occur if they retrieved the gun?......this is just confusing! They don't specifically say the kid fired the shots...
"During that search, obviously a weapon was retrieved,” Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas said. “A handgun was retrieved, and several shots were fired."
The weapon was not recovered at the school, police said."
Patdown occurs at 9:50 a.m. Firearm was discovered during patdown. Student shoots both administrators and flees with gun in automobile. Both administrators taken to hospital. One treated and released; the other remains in serious condition. Student’s car discovered 35 miles away from school. Deceased student’s body discovered approximately .2 mile from the student’s abandoned vehicle. Reading between the lines: The gun was “retrieved” from the vicinity of where the deceased killed himself.

That absolutely sounds a lot more plausible and quite probably the correct chronological order of events but that is not what was reported in the article.
For some reason it was reported like this.... (Direct quote taken from the article)

WHO retrieved the handgun?
Quite likely it's just poor journalism and there is no shortage of that these days, and it actually should say something like ..... " when the handgun was discovered during the pat down THE STUDENT retrieved it from his pocket/waistline and began firing."
Simple, clear, and concise. Right?
I just find it curious that the report(er?) is dancing around what exactly happened when the gun was discovered.....but I digress.
