Sark or Lambo: who was worse?

Is it worse to inherit greatness and plummet into average or to inherit dogshit and crawl onto a plateau of mediocrity?

Who had the best win? Probably Lambo's whammy in Miami.

Who had the worst loss? I say 2012 Apple Cup. Amazingly there were still legions and legions of doogs frothing at the mouth defending Sark after that one.

Didn't we have this conversation back in March?

I still say Lambo was the better of the two despite him bringing us down rather than Sark bringing us up (obligatory 0-12). Sark should've never been in a position to bring us up because we're WASHINGTON DAMMIT, so I don't really see that as too much of a positive for him.

    Lambo's record at UW was 44-25-1 (.636) and 31-16-1 (.656) in conference.
Sark's record at UW was 31-29 (.517) and 24-21 (.533) in conference. (I removed DI-AA games because that's a knock on Sark, ruining our streak of never playing DI-AA teams)

    So yeah, Sark was worse.

My old friend Tailgater said stats are for losers.

Plus Lambo never had to beat a ranked Oregon State. Has that been mentioned?

Lambo's biggest problem was that he didn't recruit the edgy WRs from the inner city. A couple more Sark type guys and some sideline dancing would have raised the excitement factor a bit. I personally got a little bored during the Lambo years, choosing to spend more of my time drinking and screwing skanks.

But...Tailgater was full of shit and the stats don't lie. Lambright wins comfortably.

sark was worser. this isn't really even a question.

give me sark's sig win and give me lambo's. the "inherited a mess" talk is for luzerz. i just don't care.

Guys stop quoting Lambo's win percentage like its good. He inherited a program who was 31-5 the previous three years. His win % would be similar to Sark's had he took over at any other point in program history.

Both coaches sucked ass. I'd rather state at Lemon Party than relive the Lambo and Sark years.

What's next? We'll debate between Boobs and Affirmitative action on who was better coach?

Agree, Lambo's true talent came through in his last couple years. Seven Win Steve before Sark

Sark could have played one of Lambo's 11 game schedules and still managed to go 7-6

I will say Lambo was worse. Was handed a top 5-10 program at the time with lots of talent coming through and managed to drive into mediocrity within 4 years.

Being 31 years old Lambo gave the first exposure of expecting uw to get their asses kicked on the road and something that both he and sark excelled at.

Sark is a dip shit don't get me wrong, I just like to think a dead corpse could have led the program to 7 win/ season in 1994-1998. Lambo surpassed that once.

I hated Sark, but it's fair to mention that Lamborghini (thanks, autocorrect) followed the recently retired Don James and a program that just saw three consecutive Rose Bowl appearances including a national title. Sark followed 11-37. Hard to make a head to head comparison.

You guys act like 0-12 never happened.

I'd rather have Lambo than Sark because he wasn't a constant embarrassment off the field.

I think Lambo was a slighty better recruiter. He couldn't recruit skill guys to save his life but he did bring in DL/OL/LB's while Sark was a good skill recruiter but not a OL/DL/LB's recruiter.

As a gameday coach both were equally shitty. Throw inside the 10 yard line, plunger raped on the road in big games, lose to shitty opponents, pretty solid at home but shitty on the road.

Lambo is really overrated by Doogs(hi Fleenor!) because they look at his W-L% . They assume he got a raw deal but the program was slipping under his watch and his W-L% is boosted due to having so much talent. His W-L% would been similar to Sark's had he took over at any other point in his career or if UW allowed him to continue to coach.

I never once worried tht a Sark team would beat us. He seemed best at making faces and shaking his head. I don't believe he was really invested in you guys, just used the team as a stepping stone and damned if USC didn't bite. He wanted trust and respect but who did he trust and respect?

Dumbfuck question. Lambo ' s fuckard decisions came within a play of two of rosebowls.
