You’re damn right I called it “meh”

Isn't Jim Caviezel a Bulldog from Mt. Vernon?
His sharp shooting brother was.
-
It's wild they made a blockbuster movie that is that big of a maudlin borefest. I think the deal was they thought Spielberg was gonna direct it and they were really far along when he changed his mind so it made sense to just keep going since they had invested so much in it and he would stay on as a producer.
-
He certainly is but I think may have transferred to Seattle Prep or O'Dea late to get recruited or something. I think it's come up on the podcast but his parents stayed in the area and his dad was my dad's chiropractor for years. It was pretty funny because my dad is an insane person and Caviezel sr was a very quiet very religious guy and would go to lunch with my dad just because he was entertained with how insane my dad is.
-
Born in Mount Vernon for sure. I’m gonna be upset if he isn’t one of #myLancers because I was either lied to or just got it plain wrong.
-
Amberleigh West ain't ugly.
-
Just confirmed he’s one of #myLancers. Sadly, Sam Huard is also list under the “notable alumni” section. I’m assuming Damon added him.
-
Looking up notable alumni sent me down a rabbit hole looking at high schools in Burien and Seattle.
The biggest “holy shit” discovery from Highline High School:
-
Mike Starr was on celebrity rehab?
There was something called celebrity rehab?
-
It seems like Mount Vernon has a pretty impressive notable alum section given its population. That doesn't include Glen Beck who I think is also from MV. Don't know what to compare it to I guess though. Aberdeen is pretty insane given the population.

Kind of watched The French Connection a few nights ago. Wasn’t really paying attention
Have been powering through TV shows
Severance
Surface
Reacher
White Lotus
Arli$$
-
The White Lotus this season is beyond a shit boring show with the tiny exception of the suspicion against the widow from season 1/2, and even with that subplot it's obvious that he's going to get caught since he's a white, rich, bald character on a show that's designed to hate rich white people.
-
I still love White Lotus and love having some kind of TV that is even remotely transcendent, which is something we need, but holy shit this season is slow. Four episodes of the same thing repeating over and over again. The dad on the damn phone has been having the same conversation over and over again and we knew from the trailer and the writing on the wall he was fucked from the start. The creator's first show, Enlightened, is a show I actually love.

Watch A Real Pain over the weekend. Two cousins travel to Poland and visit their dead grandmas childhood home.
Need to watch it again because the edible/vodka club soda combo kicked in and I dozed through most of it.
-
Lake George
Stumbled into it on OnDemand.
Kind of a dark comedy/modern LA-Noire that stylistically is most like Barry.
Carrie Coon is generally very good and made me lol a few times with some of the grotesque mobster situations.
-
The show this year is making me realize that I can't do miniseries nearly as much now. Now every fucking miniseries, whenever there's a slow setup or a slow filler episode, just makes me think that they actually have a 1-3 hour movie/story that they've decided to stretch out to 10.
Mare of Easttown feels like the last show that was great about not fucking with my time and actually needed 10-12 episodes to fully tell the story.
-
Industry on HBO is solid. Lots of gratuitous sex which can actually be annoying and a little too much homo action for me (offset by hot lesbo action) But the characters are interesting and well acted.
Finance and blow is always a good watch. -
Wicked - very gay
-
I watched a few episodes.
Mostly I fall back to Charlie Sheen Two and a Half Men reruns.
-
the new season of Temptation Island is on Netflix. This is one of the things that is in my Shame-ber, a guilty pleasure I have enjoyed since it debuted on Fox like 23 years ago and revived recently with the original host. Watched the first three episodes and will try to watch the rest over the next few days.
-
My wife makes me watch The Traitors every year. I always root for the hot chick(s) and they normally make it pretty far, usually because the guys are even more retarded.
-
Those shows do have hott chicks for sure.
I refuse to watch the Traitors, House of Villains or that crap. I do not watch karaoke shows or cooking shows or drag shows. Nor do I watch design clothes shows. I watched one season of Love Island but it was like 50 episodes and nothing was changing.
Years ago, I did watch Housewives of OC, like it’s first season because there were some hott chicks on there. But those shows are nothing like they are today. I know enough about these shows through walking the room to know the names of some of the “housewives” and I do have my favorites based on their hotness.
Bravo is one of the worst things ever.
-
You shut your dirty whore mouth. The Altman Brothers are like sons to me.
Wood Tracy Tudor.
Maybe Flagg if really really really really really drunk.
-
Watched 4 movies on my flights home from Hawaii.
Operation Finale. I finished the book while on vacation and thought it’d be great to see the film. Turns out not to have been great. The movie sucked especially compared to the book.
Venom’s last dance. The only redeeming qualities to the Venom movies are the dialog between Venom and Eddie.
Hornets Nest. Documentary on Afghanistan from the POV of a father-son embedded journalist team. Turned it off after 15 minutes.
The new version of Midway. Saw it in the theaters when it first came out. Watched it more critically last night and thought it was terrible.
Zulu. I only made it about halfway through but pretty good, funny in some regards and I got overly excited seeing the origin of the “Fudgie, you slovenly poster” gif

I have no idea what any of this means.
-
Huh?
I’d been awake for almost 36 hours when I wrote this. I legit reread it to make sure it was at least 81% coherent.
-
Hot Shots
Doesn’t really hold up like Airplane. There were some gags here and there but not as funny as I remember.
-
Anora
Lots of boobs and ass shots. Kind of a more gritty Pretty Woman story. I couldn’t tell you if Mikey Madison deserved the Oscar but she wasn’t the favorite. I am thinking the Academy is liking lots of nudity from the Best Actress just as Emma Stone was naked all film long in Poor Things.
-
Lucky Logan.
This is one of the very first movies I added to my Amazon Prime list years ago. Finally watched it last night.
A decent heist movie.
-
Electric State. There was still around 45 minutes left when we turned it off after what felt like 3 hours of typical world building and Transformer series type lame stuff.
They took Millie Bobby brown who just looks weird playing a student now and tried to make some 90's style Stranger Things things with some Chris Pratt playing as himself jokes.
Don't understand why companies keep investing ~250+ million on these movies. No, it's not going to turn into toys and a franchise.
