all the islands except Mercer and Whidbey are great - those two are associated with my ex-wives.
I used to go up to Neah Bay all the time. One of my best friends (RIP) and his family are from there they own a hunk of land at the mouth of the Sooes River. We used to go there all the time and climb up on Strawberry Rock which is an island during high tide. We have got stuck out there and waded/swam back. Beautiful, no people at all
They owned the land from the bridge north

It has the best state park, it has some of the most accessible views of the sound. It still has fucking cannons, and fucking jets. Fort Casey and Fort Ebey are great.

The Secret Service used to have survivalist training on Whidbey. I have no idea if they still do. When I lived in Edmonds I could look out my window and see the southern end of the island. During the summer I could see little beach fires going.

There is still a lot of island that isn't touched. I like that I don't have to wait in line for the ferry to get there.

Fidalgo gets my second vote for the same reason. That and Mr. Erie has fantastic views.
