Probably better ways than this to police. The dude in the car obviously didn't get The Talk but he's white so he wasn't killed. Pro tip - make sure your pepper spray is filled

This officer is going to lose his qualified immunity and cost his dept $thousands in a lawsuit.
He is power tripping because he's being recorded.

We don't see what happened prior but he doesn't make it clear this guy is detained for any crime, he cannot make the guy stop recording him until there is an arrest, and there is no R.A.C. (reasonable articulable suspicion) that a crime has been committed, being committed or is about to be committed.
Depending on the state, 5 mph or less over is a driving infraction and not a crime at all.

The guy in the car should have kept his door closed and locked window up first of all and been polite.
He could have asked for a supervisor and not answered any questions.

People need to know their rights first and foremost in their respective state.., and in this day and age you should record all interaction with police but you should never be a dick.
Be polite, you have the right to ask questions and record, and if you think the officer is out of line, ask his name badge# and if his bodycam is turned on
You Can stand your ground and politely demand a supervisor be present for the rest of the stop.

Get the fuck out of the car or roll the window down and engage. If you didn't do anything there is zero problem. Grow up and be an adult.

If you choose to litigate in your car or on the side of the road, I have no sympathy for you.

Know the fucking law and comply with it. Cops always have the right to detain or cite and once the decision is made, you can take it up with the local magistrate. Arguing the constitution or the facts from the driver's seat is just stupid and non-compliant, per se.

Don't play a game you cannot win. Duh.

I grew up in a town a lot like Mayberry and there were 3 officers max on duty at any given time and one of them I shared the same last name with.
I was taught that you did exactly what the officer asked and you shut your smart mouth and showed respect or there was an ass whooping when you got home.

I had a good friend that was a life long Pierce County Sheriff until he took his own life because of the job.
I saw how it affected him and I also saw how he was treated by a corrupt jurisdiction when they got territorial over a high speed chase and crash incident.
There are a lot good officers out there who love their jobs, their community and the people they "SERVE"
Unfortunately there are a couple bad apples.

I understand police and what kind of Bullshit they put up with.
Some of you misunderstand my point or just want to argue Police are always right.

99.9% of interaction with the police is perfect and you should always be kind polite and comply.

And I conceded in my first post, the guy in the car was being a dick!
Sometimes, you run into a tyrant, it happens! You better know your rights and your local laws also!

Due to funding or even corrupt cities and counties,
Police training in certain areas, doesn't always include understanding citizens rights or the law they are sworn to uphold.

You absolutely should be respectful to our officers but you don't have to be an uneducated victim to a tyrant!

    Know your rights
That is all I am saying!

If you want to argue that you shouldn't know your rights and stand up for yourself. you're a fool!

Of course we don't have the whole story because Mr. yuppee has only shown the last 2 minutes of the confrontation. The odds are that the driver is a dick who thinks he is cute trying to be a "sovereign citizen". We have seen this type of asshat a 100 times on different videos over the years. It is always the "sovereign citizen", and yes it is the same idiot who thinks they don't have to pay their taxes because of that "sovereign citizen" bullshit. I know a co-worker who ruined his life doing this crap. Went to prison for tax evasion and lost everything. He used to brag at work about lecturing the COPS when he would get pulled over. He was a fucking idiot just like the guy in the video.

I had a wild early 20's. Multiple issues with police. Probably more than most combined on here. I was given break after break and several times it took them physically forcing me to get me to listen and straighten up. I gained a lot of respect for them. My interactions with them spread over 4 states and in each state I was treated fairly and commensurately with whatever the hell stupid thing I was doing.

So when I see people taking the side of asshole citizens who like to tell the authorities no, I know they don't know what the hell they are talking about. The % of police brutality or illegal behavior is so fucking small its not even calculable. Just do what the officer is asking and everything will be just fine.

I wanted to come back and be very clear.
I never said a word about "sovereign citizen"
There is no such thing. Either you are a sovereign man or woman or you are a citizen and pledged loyalty/allegiance to a municipality or government for benefitting under their flag and protection.. Aka United States citizen
If anyone claims to be both they are an ignorant uneducated idiot who believes something they heard on the internet because they want to get away with something and doesn't understand what either word means.

I am almost 60 and have had my share of interaction with officers and hold them in the highest regard.
You came at me cussing and assuming you know more and demanding I I do what you think is right.

You get -1 for being blinded by your opinion!

I gave an assessment from what I saw based on the minute evidence given and my experience.
I didn't cuss or berate the officer in the video, I only stated that his behavior was going to get him in trouble.

My advice was, know your rights! Nothing more nothing less

I haven't interacted with the police in decades

When I was pulled over I'd usually do Eddie Haskell. Less hassle

I've been pulled over twice in the last 5 years. Both were for revenue generation. Driving while on the cell phone, and making an illegal right hand turn. Sadly, I don't have the ability to blame white racism for these stops.

    Cigs and no seatbelt.

    Sounds like a death wish.
