Ukraine's offensive is about what you'd expect without air power. They don't have a manpower problem they have an equipment problem which is why you see technicals being used for offensives.
Either way, the longer Russia stays in a war of attrition the better it is strategically for everyone not named Russia or Ukraine. It won't be long before states like Chechnya or Dagestan reignite into rebellion. Let Russia deal with that for the next 20-30yrs instead of interfering in other parts of the world.
