Old School NBA Violence

No, I'm not talking about Ron Artest World War and his brawling. Those are the selfish tatted thugs of the 2000s that fucked up the NBA.

Here's the best footage of Robert "The Chief" Parish taking down probably the dirtiest player of the 80s, Bill Laimbeer in the '87 ECF (17 second mark):

For you guys under about the age of 33, the Pistons were the biggest group of dirty thugs in the late 80s and early 90s and they were gunning for the Celtics. You can watch or DVR the 30 For 30 on it....I'm sure the BSPN family of Networks will be showing it at least 45 times within the next week.

Edit: He wasn't suspended for five games like he would be today. There weren't flagrant ones, twos, threes, and fours and he didn't have to sit out the next game. Of course, Zach Randolph did for something about 1/10th as severe.

He wasn't even thrown out and I don't even think they called a foul. That's how much they allowed shit to go back then plus the entire league knew Laimbeer more than had it coming.

For my money...this one has never been topped

I used to have beers with Kermit Washington about 10 years ago. I never asked him about this, but it was the first thing on my mind every time. True story.

Walk through the parking lot of the 24 hour fitness in the moonlight with Kermit Washington and Kevin Duckworth and get back to me.
