The LBs aren't hitting guys because they're a step slow. The athleticism at LB needs upgraded. All they can do is grab and try to drag guys down and that little fuckface Irving doesn't go down like that.
Hate that guy, but he makes the OSU and USC RBs seem like less of a challenge.

Yes, the whole defense looks slow.
It's getting better Grumble. It's nothing like last year. Nobody really ever made a legal hard hit last season because they were too slow to the ball. At least we're seeing some good sticks now. The one vs one attempts out in space are still ugly, but UW is far from alone in that regard even when you compare the top teams.

Wonder how much was a lack of depth and fatigue
Our D played 84 snaps versus our offense which only played 61

Yeah exactly. Oregon spent most of the game moving the sticks 2-3 plays at a time and wearing down our defense. UW only needed to do that on a couple of possessions to protect the defense. Succeed and it's something like 43 or 46-27 instead of 36-33.

Rewatching the game and the D was flying in the first quarter. By the end, you could see they lost a step

So there is a chance that we should thank Oregon's OC instead of Lanning? Lanning did green light going for it on 4th down. Who made the shitty play selection? Given DL's background it was likely the OC. I think maybe DL should spend more time giving the OC parameters for the 4th down attempts.
Maybe more true for the last one since it did not work on the first attempt.
I guess we should blame Lanning for the first (using Klat's reasoning) and the OC for the last.

The people that blamed Bevell instead of Carroll really exposed themselves.
I have no idea who this jabroni is but YouTube saw fit to play after Kllatt. First-tim at Husky Stadium. Couldn’t be more effusive. https://youtu.be/FJG-UJ2a0jg
Moneyshot early: “Everyone is talking about Dan Lanning and the 4th downs, but I talk about winners first.”
