Larry Kirby You Larry Kirby Wait, how is Michigan incompatible with your style? Every team Harbaugh has ever had his hands on runs the football with brutal authority and plays stout defense. How is that not your style? It's the closest living thing to the glory days.
I can definitely understand Miami not being your thing. Besides, I'm looking to do something new.
LSU and Tennessee are the leaders in the clubhouse for me.

Derek Johnson Larry Kirby You got one thing right but one thing wrong. I DO love Harbaugh, to the point of defending him on the HH boards. But you're right about Miami, not my style at all.
Outside of ASU, of the teams you mentioned there are three that I could follow. I like LSU and could try to get into them. I also like Texas although they might be heading into really lean times. And of course we've discussed Tennessee.
Michigan will be much fun to watch, but like Miami they are incompatible with my style.
Of course, once upon a time, I regarded ASU as akin to Hitler. But times change and now I like them, primarily because I love the Tempe/Phoenix area so much.
Larry Kirby You Larry Kirby I'm not sure how to turn either.
Mora is dead to me after using UW to negotiate more money form UCLA. Dead.
I have no real attachment to any other school in the PAC 12. Besides, I may not feel connected to the huskies anymore, but I wouldn't be able to root against them. No chance. I could ignore them, but I couldn't actively hate them.
Going power 5 conference by conference after the PAC 12...
B1G - my natural fit is Minnesota, but I just can't. The fans are ok with going 5-7 as long as the kids all have a nice times and get good grades. If I wanted to deal with that shit I'd just follow UW.
As I remember it, you don't love Harbaugh...but man that fucker can coach. Once in a generation great. Michigan is going to win national championships, plural. And I see so much old school football in his teams. It's exactly what I love watching. I'd be open to Michigan, except it feels trendy.
Don't care about the rest of the B1G. That whole conference (except MSU) is just a bunch of basketball schools Ohio State casually beats the shit out of on the way to the Rose Bowl.
Interested to see if Lovie Smith can do anything at Illinois.
Big 12
There's a lot to like about Oklahoma, except that they always manage to blow it somehow. Last year they lost to Texas. I would like to see Stoops get his mojo back, but I'm not sure he will. He may have run his course out there.
Texas Tech, Baylor, Oklahoma state - stupid offense. No. NOGAF about the farm schools (Kansas, k-state, Iowa state) and I can't see us caring either.
Texas...we talked about this. A possibility, but D'Charlie has to win or GTFO. He lost to a farm school last year. I think they got shut out by Iowa state, which is ridiculous for Texas.
SEC
I still like the Tennessee idea. That's a program right on the edge of doing big things. And I love the checkerboard. It's dumb, but I do.
I can't do Georgia - I used to live there and hate Georgia fans.
LSU - I could do it. I like LSU.
Florida - I can do that. Possibility.
Alabama - missed the bandwagon. Too late.
Auburn - I could do that. I like Gus Malzahn.
Arkansas is OK, but I don't think their games are always on. We need a team we can follow week in and week out and feel connected to. I guess in the end I don't see Arkansas as a place I would visit, and I think we should go visit our new team. Same can be said for The Mississippi schools. Not interested in visiting.
Can't ever pretend to care about Kentucky or Vandy, although Nashville would be a great place to spend some time.
ACC
FSU - really looking for a program on the rise. They've won a championship recently.
Miami - I have ties there, but they're not your style. I couldn't ever see you getting into Miami.
Carolina schools - maybe UNC. Possibility. NC state has always struck me as an inferior brand. Duke will go back to being Duke.
GT - only if we have a specific love for the option.
BC, Pitt, Syracuse - I just don't see myself caring. Same for Wake and the Virginia schools.
A couple of possibilities. Let's look closer and narrow them down. We both love the game too much to give up on it. I say we buy a polo shirt or something, go to a game, and just see where it leads us.

(We ended up agreeing on Tennessee)
Every so often I’ll see a comment from him pop up on Facebook memories.
The difference between play off Clemson that beat Bama twice and Clemson last night was shocking
And The Vols are a GOOD football team. I like what they are doing there. Heupel and DeBoer will be the next rivalry
UT has a giant at QB to replace Herndon Hooker
