Not sure Grubb is that integral to the team, given that this is DeBoer's scheme and offense first and foremost. However, it's another bullet point in a suddenly long list of recent signs that upper campus is starting to seriously give a fuck about football.

What a big time move. What's going on around UW right now?

Totally agree with the above comment. An OC who is always on the same page as the HC frees up the HC for other things.

I thought the article by Caple(?) about Penix was interesting when Penix indicated how little DeBoner interacts with the QBs during practice week. Clearly, it’s DeBoner’s offense and he has put his trust in Grubb to run it. Perhaps if Grubb wasn’t around, then DeBoner would feel like he’s gotta spend a lot more tim with the QBs and offense, taking away time to coach up the other aspects of the team that really need it.

Keeping Grubb seems like a huge priority.

As the CEO I doubt DeBoner is going around coaching up the secondary and whatnot. But you're right, that is interesting. I would imagine DeBoner works with Grubb a LOT in the film room. And I wonder what impact, if any, DeBoer has on the defensive side of the ball.

The comments here referring to DeBoner as CEO are kind of telling. To me, that’s what has been missing the most in head coaches at UW since Don James. Peterman was a good CEO until he lost interest, but going back, there really haven’t been good CEOs at UW. Neuheisel was a decent coach, but never acted like a CEO. Willingham thought he was a CEO, but he was shitty at it. The rest were offensive or defensive “experts” who were mediocre head coaches.

When your assistant is in the pay range of Georgia OC and tOSU DC you are SERIOUS about football. 2 million is as high as anyone gets

I was told that Dillingham leaving for the Arizona HC job means more than UW keeping Grubb by paying him

It is DeBoer's offense but if he is comfortable letting GrubHub run it then lets go

I was there. The nice thing about the @46XiJCAB takes is it almost always only a week or two before he’s wrong.

I’m all for it. But 2 raises within a month makes me wonder what the other assistants think. I guess fuck them. Get the #1 defense and then ask for some more.

It should motivate them to get their ass in gear and not mess it up. If they do, they get a fat raise.
Exactly. Don't be a slap dick coach and you can get big boy money.

DeBoer doesn't need everyone to know he's the genius by calling the plays like some head coaches. Sark cough. Lane Kiffin too but the head coach should be the CEO and hire assistants he can coach

Saban loves the defensive backs but he lets his coordinators get the glory or the scorn

Whatever DeBoer did this year to have the squad improve the way they did is what he should keep doing

Have to give credit to @Baseman

Technically I was first and right when he was destroying San Jose State on Thanksgiving last year, but I don't have any screenshots.

Apparently Jen flipped on the left turn blinker of her Subaru and entered THAT lane

There was a former prominent defensive back I once interviewed and he told the story of being at practice and the secondary coach had his back turned so the player eased up for a minute and relaxed and then as the assistant turned back the DB started going again. He thought he had gotten away with it. Except Don James saw it from the tower and told the coach. The next day the player got called out and had to do extra conditioning or something like that. LOL
