tOSU has ~36 total sports to support, compared to around 22 for Bama. They have the largest total expense in major athletics. They lean heavily on boosters to help out with that and it's hurting their NIL. Their fans aren't paying the tab like the AD wants.

I wouldn't be shocked if Day puts in a real turdpile season soon, and then where does their development pitch come from? Dude is still riding off of Urban's success.

Day is starting to look very helf-ish
45-5 is not helf-ish, however if he doesn't beat Michigan next year the pitchforks will be out in Columbus for him.

Helf started 33-5 so about one season earlier of a collapse. Which makes sense because day + staff are much better recruiters than helf + staff (and day inherited much better talent), so the cracks in the dam are taking a little longer to widen. But yeah, if they lose to Michigan again next year And have another (by their standards) disappointing class, he’s in serious trouble

John Cooper was 111-43 at tOSU but 2-10-1 against Michigan who won a natty as well when Cooper was at the bucks. He went 6-6 and 8-4 and he was gone.

Terssel and Urban owned Michigan. Fans are spoiled again

The surprise to me the last two years is how badly UM beat up the soft Buckeyes

I just started to type a paragraph about Cooper, but then I thought I'd better scroll down first to see if someone else mentioned him.

I was going to jokingly say Cooper was 80-9 at OSU but 2-8 vs Michigan

They aren’t falling off. They are loaded. They have too much talent and tradition to completely fall off.

That’s a slick quote. Is it a saying or did he make that up?

No clue. Just know he said it last year and it was used by a lot of osu fans as motivation for this years game, which they got beat in again. I give Day credit for holding onto Urbans coat tails for as long as he can.

True, he could be like Jimmy and immediately crash the program

Yeah, I think it’s a great sign that tOSU feels the need to badmouth uw.
