I agree. U2 is so over rated it hurts my fat head.YellowSnow said:
They are, but I keep coming back to the position that they are still vastly overrated.HFNY said:Even if Bono palled around with Epstein, U-2 is a legendary band.
2 legendary albums with Joshua Tree (easily on the Mt Rushmore of 1980's rock LPs) and Achtung Baby. Pre Joshua Tree they had some "good, not great" LPs and a number of classic tracks. Nothing post Achtung Baby appeals to me at all.
To me, this pole is the Belfast Cowboy and it's not really that close. Van's run from 1967- 1974 is right there with any solo artist of the period.
If you enjoy them periodically and own some albums like I do, I don't. -
U-2Probably should've said Van Morrison. I've owned his stuff on disk but never bought anything by U2.
But...the best songs from War, Unforgettable Fire and Joshua Tree rate higher for me than my 5-6 favorite Van Morrison songs.
I lost interest with Achtung Baby and haven't paid attention since. I think One is an overrated and badly overplayed song. I won't listen to it. -
Van Morrison
I'm somewhat surprised by this. I would have thunk Van the Man's top work would be more in your wheel house than 80s U-2.chuck said:Probably should've said Van Morrison. I've owned his stuff on disk but never bought anything by U2.

U-2
I was listening to Van Morrison, not U2, back when U2 was popular. I "discovered" their earlier albums years after they were old news? I don't rate them higher than him, but I'll choose New Year's Day over my favorite Vam Morrison song.YellowSnow said:

Thin Lizzy
People who say that only own their greatest hits.YellowSnow said:

Thin LizzyI’m a shill for Phil. Fuck Bono. Edge has one riff. Van is cool. Gary Moore’s solo career should qualify here but I’m biased

U-2No hyphen.
Also, check out Bono’s daughter as Becca in Bad Sisters. Wood.
