Poll options:
a) I pay
b) you pay
I'm surprised you're surprised the majority of respondents picked 'you pay'
-
Yeah, I’m the one that’s surprised. I say all of that is true, I get told there’s no fucking way it’s true, I post a poll showing it’s true, I get told of course it’s true. Rollercoaster.

and just like that. Another thread ruined.

Of course it’s true. When has it not been true that a majority favors increasing taxes they’ll never pay in order to receive benefits for themselves?allpurpleallgold said:Yeah, I’m the one that’s surprised. Voting yourself gifts from the public treasury......
Don't pay taxes? Shouldn't be allowed to vote. -

See, shitdog says you have to pay taxes to vote. I'll ignore the fact that everyone in America, literally everyone, pays taxes.
Then shitdog screams about the second amendment and supports citizens United.
There in lies the hypocrisy. This is a key point Bob, you ready for it? You can't have a poll tax, therefore requiring someone to pay taxes is not constitutional.

I’d support a system where if you work for the government outside of the military you don’t get to vote. You also would need to be a net tax payer. If you take from the government more than you pay you don’t get to vote.
It’s a direct conflict of interest to allow the parasites to vote on how much they can take from the productive members of society -
Everyone with kids is on the dole according to you. I get my child tax credit. Which pretty much everyone does under $400k of income.Sledog said:

The cut off for the child tax credit is a hell of a lot lower than $400k.
Using your standard Hondo you just lied. -

Phaseouts, which are not indexed for inflation, will begin with a modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) of more than $400,000 for married taxpayers filing jointly and more than $200,000 for all other taxpayers.

Ok. So every married family that makes $400k or less. Are you dumb, ignorant, or just can't use Google? -
Give a similar credit to a company and you will scream "CORPORATE WELFARE!!!" to the ends of the earth.2001400ex said:

Did you not read the context of my comment? Or did it just trigger you so you decided to rant about it? -
Taxing people who benefit most from living in America? Socialism!
-
Hondo, you're right and I'm wrong. I didn't realize that the new tax laws had made that change. Prior to this year the income cut off for the child tax credit for a married couple filing jointly was only $110,000.2001400ex said:

Thanks Trump, I'll finally qualify for that fucking thing. Kind of puts the lie to your claim that the new tax bill only saved most individual filers a couple hundred bucks a year Hondo. -

Fox News is your source??

Some work harder than others. Some are smarter than others. But everyone benefits from living here. Everyone should get to pay for that privilege.HHusky said: -
