Should UW be looking for a QB coach instead?

I don't know if Hamdan is the answer at OC, but I think he's valuable enough overall to keep for another year. Asking him to give up the OC job would probably guarantee he gone. Could he go back to coaching receivers, where he did his best work at UW both in recruiting and coaching, and remain at OC?
I think I'd make that change and pursue a new hire for QB coach/co OC if I were in Petersen's shoes. I've been a little surprised that I haven't seen it suggested. I'm interested in others' thoughts.

It's a much more reasonable suggestion than demoting him to WR coach.
I wouldn't hate to see it happen but it doesn't seem to be on the horizon. -
Major Applewhite is available and would be fantastic for Texas recruiting (I heard TX sometimes has some quality QBs, RBs and WRs, not to mention LBs and everything else).

I like the idea of Major Asswipe, as my friends and I maturely called him as he shredded the UW secondary with bomb after bomb.

Seriously though, I do like guys that are better than their physical tools would predict, especially as coaches later in life. -
