Social security and Medicare are straight income taxes and even reported on form 1040, you even get SS back on your 1040 if you worked two jobs and went over the threshold (ask me how I know). Well people who pay more into SS do get more benefits. The amount you receive is directly related to the amount you paid in.
For flat tax, that's my point. That Bob is missing because he's not looking at the big picture and purely looking at "income tax". People scream about "top 1% pay 40% of all taxes". Well they also make 20% of the income. And pay only 4% of SS and Medicare. I can't find what that averages to, but when all are combined, they don't pay an amount of taxes that's out of whack for the income they earn. Same with lower incomes, when you factor in SS and Medicare, their tax liability based on income isn't out of whack for the amount of income they earn. -

So to recap. When talking about income taxes and who pays what percentage of all income taxes according to Hondo the dumbfuck it's a "lie" if you don't also include payroll taxes and it's also an example of "extreme ignorance" to correctly cite the fact that the top 1% of income earners pay nearly 40% of all income taxes.
