It's not a diversion. It is clearly dumb to not include SS and Medicare when talking about federal income taxes. When you do, it changes the calculation considerably. They are taxes you pay (well most of us here do) and are considered revenue to the government. Give me a valid reason we shouldn't include that in taxes paid to the federal government. -
