Yah, maybe lubick is headed elsewhere and pete wants to make sure there's crootin going on and not just shooting the shit and a general lack of focus or effort.bananasnblondes said:Interesting that Lubick is being sent with a babysitter (Hamdan) to visit Ford and McCoy this week. Over the weekend, Malloe chaperoned him on his visit with Puka. The only guy Lubick is seeing on his own is already-committed Taj Davis.
Either Lubick is heading elsewhere next year or Pete doesn't trust him alone with recruits.
Good insight bnb. What's your price? 10.95? -
Gregory and Kwat have also been paired this whole time but hard to determine who’s babysitting who.bananasnblondes said:Interesting that Lubick is being sent with a babysitter (Hamdan) to visit Ford and McCoy this week. They are also the two biggest recruits and longshots that are still on our board. I wouldn't necessarily read anything into the fact that we're sending two coaches to try to close them.bananasnblondes said:Interesting that Lubick is being sent with a babysitter (Hamdan) to visit Ford and McCoy this week. Yeah but Lubick and Hamdan are only one and a half though. Maybe Boner will fill that gap?

I thought sending multiple coaches was common? I wouldn’t be shocked if Lubick isn’t here for long. We’ve had two years in a row of shitty WR play.bananasnblondes said:Interesting that Lubick is being sent with a babysitter (Hamdan) to visit Ford and McCoy this week. Only so many guys we are talking to ... that also could be an explanation
WR play has been probably what we should have expected it to be this year -

In Lubick’s defense, Pease recruited the current group of receivers. Fuller and Baciella have played well given their limited toolboxes. Ty Jones has so far been meh. Evaluators had him as a big HS talent, prone to mental lapses and taking plays off.RoadDawg55 said:

I believe he closed Yankoff?
Lubick may suck but I’m not ready to go there yet.
Several thought Huff sucked, too. He’s demonstrated he can recruit the results from the development side—positive—recently kicked in.

Jones at just under 30 catches and 500 yards this year and 6 TDs
Would not shock me at all next year to get up to 50 catches, 800 yards, and double digit TDs -
I put 50% of his level of production on Browning. I know, water is wet.Tequilla said:Jones at just under 30 catches and 500 yards this year and 6 TDs

highly doubt he gets 50 catches. He has a long ways to go. Does not understand settling in the zone. Is pretty good for a jump ball on one on one coverage. The dropped pass int in the ccg was fucking horrible. Needs to be more physical and does not get separation.Tequilla said:Jones at just under 30 catches and 500 yards this year and 6 TDs

That being said a qb like Eason should help but there is a lot to improve on. I thought he would be further along at this point. -
If you put his production this year as a RS Frosh then that’s good production
He played last year to get an idea of what playing looked like this year because he was going to be needed
He’ll go to work in the offseason and continue to improve ... still a really young player -
Agree that Ty Jones will be substantially better next year but his progression so far has been slightly disappointing
-
They’re actually not that bad just so low ceiling. We could have a whole thread about Jake and ty but Jake can win big games if he has guys like hunter Bryant all over the field. Asking him to depend on Aaron and Andre is setting him up to fail. Once Eason gets in there it will be the opposite where he is carrying guys like that instead of being a senior and having Joe Ngata and Kyle Ford when you play Alabama.Tequilla said:

Did our receivers suck this year? Not really. But everything needs to be graded on a spectrum of “are they good enough to beat Bama?” Nothing else matters. -
I am big fan of fuller, very happy that the kid put all that hard work and is making the most of it, but we all know he at best a good #2 option. To expect more from him is unfairLaMichael_Corleone said:

People were skeptical of the Huff hire. He immediately went to work and proved everyone wrong. Not really the same thing.Baseman said:

It's hard to really judge Lubick because so much of the WR issues also start with Browning's issues ... separating them is difficult at best
The WRs aren't perfect ... but in general the talent is coming in and there's reason to like the next few years
That being said, we also need to see how Lubick closes the class ... the Ngata miss (not that he went to Clemson but shut it down before the season and not taking an official to UW) is still a MASSIVE red flag. -
This should insult you. How dumb does he think we are?

How about Malloe then? Roundly panned and called for his firing. Now look where we are.FremontTroll said:

You fucking coach-trusters are retards.
Also... with regards to Lubick... he got Yankoff, Trey and Culp last year. Ty, Alex, Terrell, Ozzy and Spiker were Hamdan.

Our only hope is Bush. Bush has such a good relationship with Ty that Ty straight up told him he wanted to go to Utah and Bush found a way because he knew his job description read “NEEDS TO FUCK” not get over the pants tuggies.Dennis_DeYoung said:

Hopefully Mcduffie commit can help him with the Servite connection. We would also have Trent, Tui, Bandes, and Asa going to the all American bowl vs USC just sending Bru.
The Lewis visit was just about the nail in the coffin for me. But I’m going to doog till the end because of how big of a need we have at that position. Hopefully we bring in both.
