Johnny Manziel

He'll throw picks, but he'll make a lot of plays that make u wonder how he did it.
Maybe I'm just a sucker for Manziel

obviously Manziel is a better runner and favre was a better passer, but their improvisation skills are very similar
-
I think he's special. Can't wait to draft him on my fantasy team.
-
I think he's going to be really good, but I can see why he is a risk.
-
i like him.
-
... but I don't think he's gay?

Don't be fooled guys. He's the next Tebow, big time guy in college who won't do shit in NFL.
-
Still he was amazing to watch in college
-
asanine, tebow can't throw anywhere close to ManzielHe_Needs_More_Time said:Don't be fooled guys. He's the next Tebow, big time guy in college who won't do shit in NFL.

He won't be Tebow bad but due to the hype he'll resemble Tebow.

I wouldn't draft him #1 but when all is said and done he will be the best qb out of this class
-
Likewise, I don't think he'll do very well.dhdawg said:

He can throw and he's about 1000x more elusive than Tebow. He certainly has a better chance at succeeding.
-
Tebow was amazing in college because any time it was any down & short he would convert it.
Johnny Football could certainly fail at the next level, but their games are much different. -
Agreed. Manziel throws a much better ball than Tebow does, too.Mosster47 said:Tebow was amazing in college because any time it was any down & short he would convert it.

He's small, immature, and in the NFL guys are much stronger and faster. He's not going to flame out in two years or anything, but I would be surprised if he made more than one Pro Bowl ( Matt Schaub and Derek Anderson made one so it's obviously not that hard) and won more than one playoff game. Take all the screenshots you want.

that's what worries me, durabilityFire_Marshall_Bill said:He's small, immature, and in the NFL guys are much stronger and faster. He's more accurate than I thought and has plenty of arm strength. He's thrown quite a few picks though (22) and NFL corners will give him trouble. If he can dial back his penchant for always wanting to make the heroic play he had a chance to make it at the next level. He HAS to avoid big hits though. He's a tough little fucker but the big boys will break him in half unless he limits the hits.

agreed. a wild card. no outcome would surprise that much. the game has changed and the paradigm for QB in the NFL has broadened. there are more offensive packages that are played in the League now to best suit the talent at that position.
that said, he does things in college that will blow up in his face in the NFL. that (admittedly amazing) play where he just throws himself into a crowd of blockers and defenders and somehow bounces out on his feet? yeah, in the NFL an outside LB or safety comes up and decapitates him. he doesn't live to make that play.
I wonder how good he would have been with Kelly in the read option at Oregon had MM not committed. All in all, I'd take MM over him because, if nothing else, MM's height will give him a shot, at least a shot, at being an NFL QB. I know it's being done now with shorter guys, and I'm no Hugh Millen, but if you can get height AND mobility in the same guy, you take it. -
Short quarterbacks have no prospect in the NFL.
Everyone in Seattle should know that. -
The only guy who gets it in this thread. Can't believe you guys are all falling for the Manziel hype.Fire_Marshall_Bill said:He's small, immature, and in the NFL guys are much stronger and faster. Manziel had a FANTASTIC offense in college. Two top 5 tackles and Mike Evans just for starters. He won't be able to do his playground football thing as much in the NFL. If he goes to the Raiders bust for sure.
