What's so special about special teams?

Obligatory big kick off returns including one that could have gone to the house if snow white jerseys etc
Give up a three point swing on a failed extra point
Browning gives WSU a TD on a fumble, takes a score away from UW on a pick
Thankfully our D finally opened up the turnover spigot themselves
Watched this again last night and we could have choked that away rather easily if not for MMFG who was missed in our losses and may be missed next year
Leads me to believe the UTAH game will be closer than we want

Special teams are far and away the biggest abortion of 2018. You can’t do much about Jake’s lack of talent, but you sure as fuck can coach a better ST unit than the disaster we saw this year. Fire Gregory, and it’s not even close.

I think this years team has more glaring holes than the teams of 16-17 did, which is led by the horrid special teams. However, we are also really fucking good in a couple of areas that have been good enough to get us to this point.
Utah always will play us tough no matter who is injured on either team or where it is played. It is a fun physical match up to watch. Lets hope Browning can come in and make a couple more big throws and MMFG can throw some more corpses into the body bag. -
Where's Bob Simmons or Al Roberts when you need'em?

I don't remember Utah special teams meaning anything earlier this year because they couldn't even get a first down after the initial Moss TD.
I'm a little worried about Moss tho. Human battering ram to keep the chains moving -
He’s done for the year, been out for four weeks. Is this a woosh?haie said:I don't remember Utah special teams meaning anything earlier this year because they couldn't even get a first down after the initial Moss TD.

Serious question... how did the special teams get so bad this year? In past years it seemed to be fine, if not a strength. What the fuck?

Roberts is at O'dea. He also used to coach RBs so we can kill 2 birdsjecornel said:Where's Bob Simmons or Al Roberts when you need'em?

I’m hearing Joe Williams has some eligibility left and might be persuaded to come out of retirement yet again for Friday night.haie said:I don't remember Utah special teams meaning anything earlier this year because they couldn't even get a first down after the initial Moss TD.

They are called special teams methinks ala our education system's special education. We really shouldn't expect too muchMiley_Cyrus said:Serious question... how did the special teams get so bad this year? In past years it seemed to be fine, if not a strength. What the fuck?

I think Gregory should be DAO for various reasons including special teams, but lack of LB depth is killing us on ST this year. LBs and safeties makes up a bulk of kickoff units

If only our ST coach had some say in the LB depth...SonnyShackelford said:I think Gregory should be DAO for various reasons including special teams, but lack of LB depth is killing us on ST this year. LBs and safeties makes up a bulk of kickoff units
