I think Penn State got off easy.....but that's just me. How they are allowed to even have athletics as part of the university is baffling to me.

100% disagree. That as not an athletic issue. It was a criminal issue. Those involved need to personally be held accountable. The school as a whole may be liable as well, but to say the football team can't go to bowl games is absurd. If this happened at a school science camp would the chemistry department be closed down or would the people involved be arrested and or sued?

Because it was around football it became the outrage of the day and the villagers showed up with pitch forks and demanded blood. Emmert took the easy way out and gave them what they wanted. He did it not so much to punish PSU, but to show the world just how awful the NCAA thinks child abuse is. He also hates war, supports the troops, hates elder abuse, animal abuse and poverty. Profiles in courage material right there.
One of the better poasts I have seen on the interwebs. Congrats.
    I always enjoy his posts
Don't sell yourself short Race. Yours are always classy.
Thanks I have always thought of you as one of the classy posters here too

I understand the criminal issue....and I get what Damone is saying. My issue was the coverup and the overall lack of morality that went through the football coaches and athletic department. Once people knew about it and did nothing....they shouldn't have had the privilege to continue.

Is this a chemistry department recruiting event? Did the dean of the department try to cover it up?

That is an absolutely perfect summation.

Its not the NCAAs job to enforce federal laws. they overstepped their jurisdiction, regulate sports that is their only job.

Fuck morality, if they broke the law then prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law, if they didnt then STFU and LEAVE!

My favorite fucktarded logic was the need for a lawsuit... The taxpayers paid for a prosecutor to file a suit against a public university which they fund.

When the sex abuse involves the sports facilities of a member institution of the NCAA and the support of active NCAA coaches, they have the right to get involved.

Why? If a coach murdered someone in the locker room and another coach covered it up should the team get a bowl ban? Or maybe just send those people to prision.

That would make a great screenplay. Or "Made up Movie"...

are you arguing that if your coworker is a pedophile and downloading underage porn with the help of his cubicle friend at a company you work at that you should have your pay docked or vacation days removed by your boss because you worked at the same company as the guy as punishment?
