what I learned today

Oregon played harder in OT.
Looking at the stats our D held Herbert (far from ready to be the number 1 QB in the draft) in check - he did not win the game for the ducks.
Browning did not lose the game for us although he tried on a couple of occasions.
Pleasant and McGrew filled in nicely, play calling did not take advantage of that.
All this being said, Oregon and Jake still suck

I learned 5 years ago that our kicking game sucks and costs us 1-3 games/year.
I learned 4 years ago that our kicking game sucks and costs us 1-3 games/year.
I learned 3 years ago that our kicking game sucks and costs us 1-3 games/year.
I learned 2 years ago that our kicking game sucks and costs us 1-3 games/year.
I learned last year that our kicking game sucks and costs us 1-3 games/year.
I learned today that our kicking game sucks and will cost us 1-3 games this year.
Lather, rinse, fucking repeat.

All fair above.
Still a cute offense. Cute doesn't travel well.
Still choking in every big game.
Still a loser program.

Agreed with all that except the comment about Herbert's draft status. Who in the country is better? The kid is big, mobile, Can make every throw in the book, and make them easily. He is exactly the kind of guy who gets John Elway to come to his games and watch him play. He is exactly the kind of quarterback who makes GMs all over the NFL get wood.LebamDawg said:Other than a few screwy plays (actually from both sides) it was a well matched couple of teams and we lost because we can't make a FG.

I agree with everybody else and I made the same observation; he did not play out of his mind today. He played well enough for them to win, and he certainly played a part in that. But he ran like a pussy, and got a little happy feet in the pocket and let a few passes go earlier than he needed to.
But none of that has anything to do with where he'll be taken in the draft. The kid is gone, because the kid is going to be an early first rounder. Cook it.
That said, It speaks to where Oregon may be that they were able to beat a pretty good Washington team without Herbert doing it all on his own. If you would have told me yesterday that Oregon would be at Washington with Herbert turning in a mediocre game, I would have laffed like @Swaye 's idiot hyena. -
Both teams suck. No fucking way Oregon should win that game playing like that.
-
We lost because Petersen got conservative with a minute to go. Kicked a FG on third down with timeouts. Then got conservative on first and goal in OT with momentum. And fuck the wildcat.
-
Hamdan should drink bleach.
Petersen should pour bleach down Hamdan’s throat, then pour some for himself.
Fuck Jake.
Fuck Malloe for bad recruiting until recently.
Fuck Bob Gregory.
Bring back Coach K as DC and send Lake back to DBs only.
Fuck this Doog shit. We don’t fuck. We get fucked. This must change.
Mediocre sucks.
Fuck. -
Oregon played harder in OT? I remember Pleasant running for like 17 yards on the first play then Pete and company became allergic to Td's. Before the final run play, Oregon had a pass dialed up but called a timeout. I will give you that the UW D looked gas on the winning TD.
Either way shit loss. -
Good QB' 's win the game.
If you aren't winning, you're losing.
Browning is Cody Pickett "good" -
You actually almost won because Oregon plays not to lose. It’s a concern.2001400ex said:We lost because Petersen got conservative with a minute to go. Kicked a FG on third down with timeouts. Then got conservative on first and goal in OT with momentum. And fuck the wildcat.
The last set of plays Oregon ran in regulation was absurd. They tend to lock up get confused and go away from what’s been working for them.
3 games in a row.

Browning isn’t that good. Not even close.sarktastic said:Good QB' 's win the game.

Herbert didn’t need to win the game. Your defense dictated that we run. Also, that throw to Redd and 3rd and 11 in OT were money.LebamDawg said:Other than a few screwy plays (actually from both sides) it was a well matched couple of teams and we lost because we can't make a FG.

You mean the 15-yard cushion zone defense called by Lake, was money?lawsandl said:

No fuxking pass rush

I would take Cody over Brownsux every time. Cody was a cowboy. You always have a chance to win with a cowboy.

Pickett didn't have the injury resiliency of Brownshucks. But I do respect his willingness to let it go.StlouisDawg said:I would take Cody over Brownsux every time. Cody was a cowboy. You always have a chance to win with a cowboy.
Also, Pickett would have died after the @89ute helicopter tackle last year. No comeback needed. -
Cody may not have the injury resiliency of Brownsox but he is the only former QB (that I know of) who earned a roster spot in the NFL by agreeing to play special teams.MisterEm said:

Yes, Cody was the epitome of a cowboy.
