Pro Tip: a shoe seller doesn't care if you burn shoes you already paid for.

They will if you choose to replace them, and every subsequent pair, with a competitor's brand. Nike's market cap took a $3.5B+ hit yesterday. They are a global brand, this is likely a very short term thing, but the move by them to make such a polarizing choice for their message is questionable.uzi said:Pro Tip: a shoe seller doesn't care if you burn shoes you already paid for.

This is a different type of situation. It's inauthentic glorification. It implies the racist NFL won't hire him to play quarterback after his valiant stand. The reality is that his game had gone off the rails and his anti-social moodiness in the locker room did not make him a strong leader. This isn't a Tom Brady or Russell Wilson making a stand and suddenly finding themselves out of a job.RaceBannon said:Boycotts tend to backfire lately
See Chik Fil A and IN and OUT Burgers
I would be shocked if Nike ends up making millions on this campaign. I think it will hurt them. -
Well put, technically gifted writer. Totally agree. Cheers.DerekJohnson said:

Maybe they don't care about the racist end of the spectrum.Southerndawg said:

Maybe they don't care about the racist end of the spectrum. How many pairs of Nike can trailer park dwellers even afford to buy?Southerndawg said:

Wow, and you had to use two quotes to get that out? Thoughtful and in depth analysis of the situation as usual, bathmat.Baphomet said:

Perhaps Nike's motive is to appeal to their key demographic with a polarizing yet culturally relevant figure to that demographic. Just my 0.02, but they could have met their goals without the obvious polarization. -
Seems like a lot of trouble when they could've just acquired FUBU instead. Marketing ploy, plain and simple.

The initial reaction has been negative, including following last night's airing of the ad.TurdBuffer said:Seems like a lot of trouble when they could've just acquired FUBU instead. Marketing ploy, plain and simple.

Could still be a short term blip, but they've managed to piss off a lot of people in the process. -
Maybe Phil Knight will start sporting an afro in solidarity.Southerndawg said:

Race-baiting fucking whore. -
I never thought I'd see nike fall so low as to have the face of their campaign be a guy who isnt even good enough to play the sport.

Suddenly sweatshops, human trafficking and forced abortions in the Marshall Islands are A-OK with the left, after decades of complaints, protests, and boycotts.
What would Michael Moore say? He took Knight to the woodshed over the Marshall Islands shit in an article I read of his once. -
