You'd be surprised how much farmed fish is sold around here. A lot of the salmon and steelhead you see in the store is farm raised fish.
It's because wild caught Chinook is 26 bones a pound and farmed Atlantic is 12. People who don't eat wild fish very much probably couldn't tell the difference either. I have people ask me for Chum salmon in the fall. Who the fuck eats Chum salmon?

            Alaska winter king or gtfo.

Washington spring Chinook is the best salmon you're ever going to get.ThomasFremont said:Alaska winter king or gtfo.

Even in California you better check the label. Most of the slamon is farm raised and frozen to boot

Washington is unique in that regard so they have that going for them which is nice.
When I was young the salmon jumped out of Budd Inlet into the boat -

I'm going to go out to Fish Trap this weekend and see if I can find a king that's looking for a wood shampoo. South sound Kings aren't the best fare, but my neighbors will think I'm a hero for dropping a salmon on them.RaceBannon said:Washington is unique in that regard so they have that going for them which is nice.

I prefer to have my salmon retrieved the old fashioned way.
By my squaw.
Actually, I think she's Hawaian or Australian. Sorry for the ISAFNRC, @Swaye
