Actually it's the insurance companies wanting Obamacare. The drug manufactures don't like it because it put limits on how much they can charge consumers.

Insurance companies have fled multiple states since Obamacare was put in place. Before Obamacare, you had 10-15 different health insurance carriers to choose from in Oregon. Now you have like 3.

First of all, carriers choose to operate county by county, not State wide. I'm not even going to look it up but I promise you there are more than 3 in all of Oregon. Second, insurance companies lobbied for Obamacare because they got 30 million additional new customers. Third, insurance companies are pushing to change the laws so it's not county by county but the bigger donors are pushing to repeal Obamacare.

30 million additional customers being paid by government subsidies, then when the subsidies dried up, it was paid by healthy middle class payers in the form of higher premiums. With more and more middle class payers leaving the system, the insurance companies won't be able to raise prices high enough to make a profit, as the percentage of people leaving the market will be more than the cost increases. It would have been a hell of a lot easier to enhance the Medicaid program to get more low income people insured, than to overhaul an entire health care system into ruin.

BTW...county by county is true, and in fact lane county I believe only has two options Providence or Moda

It’s KP, Providence or Moda for me. Although KP is Managed Care, so not sure if they count or not.
