The New Democrat Platform?

As someone who watched America burn in the 60's from the couch, I can tell you it had a major impact on moving things forward. I understand the need not to declare victory but those who don't see the huge change in this country over the last 60 years are just looking for votesWilburHooksHands said:

Who's being oppressed? The only people with any real argument to being legit oppressed in the US are illegal immigrants, the incarcerated for minor drug crimes and I suppose you could argue the families of the incarcerated. What is somewhat new is how widespread and accepted the intolerance and violence of the unhinged left is within the party. There was a time when democrats largely had a sense of decency and civility, an appreciation for law and order and would keep the far left within their ranks in check by openly condemning the actions of those who engaged in harassment and outright violence. Today, the party is the unhinged far left, they openly encourage those things.
This isn't to say there's aren't other injustices in our country but oppression is a strong word and by and large people in the US aren't being oppressed. If you want to argue for minimum wage labor be my guest. Strong disagree.
We've come a long way baby
Its still the economy. Not sure why the dems don't copy what wins for them. Even Obama won on the economy because it was nice enough to crash for him

APAG is right. It’s alarming how much the consolidation of far right wing power without broad popular support among the citizenry is being ignored, especially by the media. What do they think are the consequences of fewer and fewer ways to seek recourse for political grievances.

Frankly the only political thing I really care all that much about is our shitty food that's lead to the obesity epidemic.
Being fat probably causes more problems with health Care and people dying than everything else combined by a wide margin.
Plus it lessens the amount of doable chicks.

Democrats won't allow it as then they can't purchase those same votes with our tax money.greenblood said:I actually support one of her ideas:
Universal Jobs Guarantee: We already fork over billions of dollars every year for welfare benefits. Why can't the government open up beach cleanup, forest cleanup, and trail maintenance teams. At least the government gets something for the money they pay out.

The GOP may throw the Dems a lifeline by shit talking abortion in regards to the Supremes. Abortion of some sort does have broad support
People want someone else to pay more taxes and have free trips to the doctor for a runny nose? They don't vote that way though. Or else Hilary would be president

This isn't to say there's aren't other injustices in our country but oppression is a strong word and by and large people in the US aren't being oppressed. If you want to argue for minimum wage labor be my guest. Strong disagree.
To crush or burden by abuse of power or authority.
99% of the country is being oppressed. -

It’s alarming how much the consolidation of far right wing power without broad popular support among the citizenry is being ignored, especially by the media. What do they think are the consequences of fewer and fewer ways to seek recourse for political grievances.
The consolidation of power is by the central government.
That was the classic election battle, more or less central government. Now it is how much more never less

I must have. Because I don't remember it at all. Every day there's some new huge thing that's going to shake the foundations of our civilization!HardlyClothed said:

Quite honestly though, this is what the left fails understand. When you live your life by the outrage of the day, last month's outrage never has time to get addressed.
Troof. The Outrage De Jour approach is like listening to Charlie Brown's teacher.
MeToo, Black Lives Matter, income inequality, save the whales, universal health care, gun control, dreamers, carbon footprint, transgender.....
Just pick one for a year or so, get something done and STFU about the rest.

You should be ashamed to be alive and should kill yourself immediately for saying something so stupid. Get the fuck out of here with that shit. I knew you had no respect for free speech or the constitution, this confirms it. The pendulum swings both ways you fucking robot. If everything comes to pass as you say, you won't have any rights either. If you have no use for democracy, maybe you should self deport.allpurpleallgold said:
And this is why we can’t be friends. What is this nonsense? You’re talking about Obama and Hillary, you fucking idiot. Yes, nothing screams integrity like elected politicians making every deccision based on who donated how much to them.salemcoog said:
Or.... Maybe some of them have at least a slice of integrity and won’t run on Faery tails.allpurpleallgold said:It should be. All those things poll really well. Corporate democrats are fighting it though because they’d rather lose than represent the voters.
Either way, lack of abundance.
If you look at that list of platforms and hate it, that’s fine. But you want to pretend it shows a lack of integrity, if you want to play victim like @Southerndawg , then we can never be on the same team. Millennials and Gen Z are coming and everything on that platform is going to happen whether you like it or not. And when really big shit comes up, things like freedom of speech, people like me aren’t going to fight them. Because I’d rather let them fuck up the constitution then ever be on the same side as someone like you.
