NFL reportedly discussing penalty for kneeling during anthem

So we are just giving up on why there was a protest in the first place
Hint - it had nothing to do with the anthem -
Clearly the honor of sing song time is more important than people being shot by cops.RaceBannon said:So we are just giving up on why there was a protest in the first place

Official now. Forced patriotism is best patriotism!

Neither side should be willing to die on this hill. The competing furors are stupid.

The players don't have to be on the field is the rationale for the fines.
Everyone in the media and the Trump WH were all to happy to get off BLM and onto the good old anthem fight. Both bases can get outraged without any chance of any actual rational discussion on a more important matter.
Despite the fact that I am a right wing racist I supported Kapernick for his stand and would like to see us talks facts and figures not national anthems
All the NFL is doing is letting this shadow another season -
Shitting on the troops that died for your right to shit on them is kind of a dick way to make a point, but you have the freedom to do so. Unless the NFL says you can't. They have the freedom to decide what is acceptable in their league. USA USA USA.
-
Can we just stop the National Anthem? Who the fuck cares. I want my beer now not after this shitty low level opera singer rendition.
-
In hockey, no one kneels for the anthem. They even play the Canadian anthem if there is a Canadian team. It's about respect. Same concept happens in international soccer. Both nations anthems are played and the players stand respectfully with their mouths shut at very least. Some choose to sing along, because they are grateful for the right to represent their country no matter how shitty it may be. No one kneels or makes it into a protest. Except stupid American athletes that grandstand and think their opinions are more important than showing respect for a country that makes it possible for you to get rich playing a game.
And for the record, I am AGAINST police brutality and racial profiling. -

First I must say that the NFL owners are greedy bastards. That being said, if you Race Bannon owned a business where your employees wanted to make defiant stands for political purposes, and it was pissing off a large section of your customer base, I don't think you'd stand idly by and let it happen. You would want to mitigate the financial impact.RaceBannon said:The players don't have to be on the field is the rationale for the fines.

Instead you should proactively change your rules to appease the racists that hate your employees?DerekJohnson said:

There's nothing wrong with a stand for the anthem policy. The NBA was wise to put there's in years ago.
There might not be anything wrong with the NFL instituting this policy, but waiting two damn years to do it reeks of "we don't care what's right, we just care about money".
The NFL could have taken a pro or anti Kaepernick stand two years ago and I probably would have supported. Dragging their feet htis long and doing it now just looks extremely pussy.
Fuck em. -
Kind of like with how Emmert dealt with the Willingham situationRaceBannon said:

The NFL can make as much money as they like. No problem there the players get a guaranteed cut of revenues. Now, they signed a bad deal that lets owners keep some money off the sharing plan but get a better negotiator next time.
The fact that we are once again arguing over the fucking national anthem when the issue is police brutality of young Black men is what pisses me off.
Kind of indicates that maybe the NFL isn't the place for that discussion. Football fans aren't going to change the world. Sorry to disappoiint -

But while we're on the subject, I just gotta say that I don't like the way the protest is done. It would be much better if the anthem was left alone and the teams just elected to come on the field to Fuck the Police with their fists held high. I would respect that more. -
What will happen is that you will probably see entire teams stay in the locker room.

I’m sure there were a lot of Brits that thought we had a point but didn’t like the way the Boston Tea Party was done.PurpleJ said:

Besides... Ronaldinho, a black man, is marrying two hot chicks so maybe the Brits and their love of soccer weren't all that bad. -

This video is ridiculous
Belongs on the NBA bored I guess
My 62 year old wife, dressed professionally, waiting to enter a development to do her job was harassed by two police cars filled with 4 cops within the last year.
Its a good thing I'm white because with my anger issues I'd be dead by now. I haven't had police contact since I was in my 20's -
Yet, another reason why the NFL sucks and College Football is a far better product.
Have some shitty rendition of the National Anthem AND then let the players run out of the tunnel is the way to go. -
This shit is so fucking stupid and needs to die a fucking fire. Let people stand, kneel, piss, or fuck during the national anthem. It won't deter people from watching.

You're wasting your time trying to reason with APAG if you're against the kneelers. He's a SJW and is going to scream "RACIST!!!" in response to any opinion different than his own. He's a stupid fucking cunt on par with Boobs. They are both lost causes and live in the echo chamber constructed by their masters, the media and the education system. The media and education system are responsible for producing boobs like APAG and his shotgun riding pussy racist sidekick who got ran a few months ago.
