    The vig is the profit the casinos make given they get an even bet of overs and unders. The vig is also in place to offset losses the casino takes when a disproportionate group of people bet on the winning side. There really isn't much of a margin in sports betting as it is. Adding an integrity fee to it will undoubtedly increase costs on the public. Also the integrity fees are on the amount bet not the casino's revenue. It's like placing a sales tax to casino's or other online betting sites made payable to sports franchises. Who do you think is going to have to pay for this tax?

    Smart people now have to spend more to bet, because smart people have been betting all along without this fee. Sure, newcomers will show up realizing they have an easier avenue to make bets, but it's going to cost them more than if they had done it the right way all along.

    Then the leagues will sue and will probably win. They have a pretty good case to charge it, and it will probably hit Vegas too. The only reason sports betting was banned was because the leagues didn't get their cut, and they threw the integrity of the game bullshit around. It has never been about integrity, it always has been and always will be about money. The leagues will get their cut one way or another. As will the state.

    This cut is going to be passed down to the bettor and will make each bet cost more.

    Depends on the state. Oregon now has a limit of 4 ounces in possession. Washington’s limit is 1.4 ounces in possession. Which both are a higher tolerance than pre legalization. But still...
