I took a long walk for perspective

Fucking offer in-state studs already, don't offer kids from Texas that we? have no shot at, why are we? offering kids who suck, which coaches are failing at recruiting (Kwat), fuck you and your manic episodes with your stupid insecurities because I trust the coaches, etc., etc., etc.....
My long walk has led me to this obvious conclusion:
Things at UW are so good that us retards are able to bitch about little things that need to get better as though they are actually gigantic problems. The reality is recruiting is improving every year, positions are starting to stack talent (QB, WR, DL, DB), there are some killer recruiters (Malloe has joined Lake, Lubick, Hamdan, and Huff), Coach Pete is slow to adjust strategy but nevertheless he always adjusts, and UW is putting players in the NFL at an accelerated rate (next year is going to be ridiculous).
Coach Pete has done all this without the Blue Chips of USC, UCLA, Stanford, Oregon, and even ASU. Now he is getting those Blue Chips.
Shit is going to be maximum Doog for the next few years at a level we haven't seen in a while. I'm going to be getting a fuck load of FREE PUB! with all the Doog Shit that is going to go down.
At times it seems like some of us don't trust the coaches, but really it's just about always wanting improvement.
I think it's safe to say we all fucking trust the coaches.
If you don't, I can't fucking help you, but maybe this tweet can (speaking of which, WestCoastCFB is fucking killing it these days):
Commence doogin my brothers.

We're considering Huff a killer recruiter now? Let's not confuse good players with difficult targets. Curne is the biggest pull he's gotten so far, and he was a three-star from a small school who didn't get good offers until late. I like Huff, but he hasn't done anywhere near enough to be crowned already.

I could have picked either one because they're roughly the same. I still think it's harder to get a kid out of Texas, but either way it's not like either of them are elite recruits. Putting him in the same bracket as Lake is way premature.backthepack said:

Agree putting him with Lake is premature. Having high expectations based on last year is not.NorwegianHusky said:

Sure, but again, let's not conflate how good a recruit is with how hard it was to recruit them. I really like Curne as a player. I'm also fairly optimistic about Huff, but we still don't really know what kind of recruiter he's going to be.WeakarmCobra said:

Agree, but if a coach is able to identify elite talent early and get them in the boat early. I don’t really give a fuck, how hard they were to getNorwegianHusky said:

If he gets good players, why the fuck should I care if he is getting difficult to recruit ones?NorwegianHusky said:

Do we get a degree of difficulty score adjustments on Saturdays in the Fall? Is this figure skating?

Because we're talking about whether or not he's good at recruiting. If you want to talk about whether or not he can identify underrated talent, that's a different question.AIRWOLF said:

No one had any questions about whether or not Pete could find underrated talent when he came here. The question was whether or not he could win recruiting battles for top recruits.
I think Pete has shown that he can. Huff hasn't been here long enough to show much of anything. He hasn't landed any true blue chips yet.
Should he be able to find underrated recruits and develop them? Yes. Should he also be able to land blue chip recruits that we like when he needs to? Also yes.
You literally just posted the thread about recruiting rankings, why are you arguing with me on this? The blue chip ratio on your roster directly correlates with wins and nattys. -
It’s fair to say Huff isn’t on the same level as Lake, Hamadan, and Lubick. Hell, I made a mistake saying Malloe joined his ranks. I had it backwards in the OP. Huff still needs to join Malloe. He has a little more to prove but he’s on his way.NorwegianHusky said:We're considering Huff a killer recruiter now? Let's not confuse good players with difficult targets. But I was writing a long fucking post and wanted to include him because he doesn’t suck. Fair to say I should have made a delineation because everyone analyzes everything here.
And yes, I consider Curne a big pull. Let’s not forget how mad hard everyone was doogin when he signed:
http://hardcorehusky.com/discussion/44853/2-victor-curne#latest
And I don’t care if he was a non-blue chip that didn’t get good offers til late. Huff held off LSU and A&M late. And that’s with A&M offering coffee cups ala Jeremiah Martin.
If you can’t see that as a feather in the cap then I can’t help you. But it shouldn’t be a victory that is minimized right now.
Add Mele and now Kalepo who leading our? recruiting charge along with getting major offers from across the country and my point stands, Huff is a good recruiter who is on his way up.
It was my mistake for not separating him from the godlike status of Lake or badass status of Hamdan and Lubick or new pimp in town fucking all the bitches Malloe.

Now you are framing it slightly differently. Obviously highly rated recruits tend to be better than less highly rated recruits. That isn't the same as saying a guy can't be a good recruiter without closing on "difficult to recruit" players. It all goes to the definition of "difficult to recruit". Does that just mean highly rated, or difficult for other reasons?NorwegianHusky said:

And, for what it is worth, Curne may have only been a mid-ranked prospect, but he was a difficult recruit by nature of the fact he was in Houston and got interest from Big XII schools late in the process. -
