But not Hasselbeck. “Look,” he says. “Every coach I ever played for says these are the priorities: faith, family, football. But no one really lives that way. No one. Jake didn’t retire. He put family and faith first. This is the way I judge people now: If you don’t like Jake Locker, I don’t think I can like you.”

That is exactly the quote that stuck with me. Just face it Hasselbeck hates everyone on HardCore Husky.
He and a bunch of other members of the team rented a house on Lake Washington. Their neighbor is a friend and he has some stories, mostly about late parties and copious amounts of beer cans washing up his boat launch. Friend says he isn't surprised they went @Owen12
There is no way he would have quit if he was playing well for a winning team. He can say whatever he wants, but he got burnt out over being a disappointment for a shit team.

Don't hate the guy because I don't know hi but he didn't love football. He's like the 7 foot guy that has to play basketball whether he loves it or not.
Jake is a superior athlete especially in a small town and at a shit program like UW was. But he never burned with desire to compete and win and he never loved the game
Look, he made big bucks doing it as long as he could stand it and got out. I don't have a problem with that but wouldn't waste more than this post on it let alone a big story
You must not have been there. The number one reason to keep Ty was because Jake wanted to play for him
#2 was the best recruiting class n history according to Mitzi and Emmert's two inches of thunder
Neither dumb nor unfair
Of course Lockner never had any leadership skills either so why would he give a shit playing for a tin horn dictator shitty coach. He got paid we got Owen12

Just look at what you've created, Derek.
Football coaches are stupid.
His agent is right, he could have held a clipboard and still made 10 Mill with a chance to be a starter and make much much more.

He could have got Ty fired and didn't
