I really like this kid. I knew we offered a while back, but I don't write up a post for every kid we offer. However, I think everyone should be very pleased with this.
He is a G and a mauler. He had offers from USC and other top tier teams.
Here's his freshman hudl: https://www.hudl.com/video/3/4335054/59b4bff6d21ae303e0be6152
He's listed at 6-5, 285, but I'm going to guess 6-3.5, 270. I like him as aguard CENTER in our future and this will begin to help us make up some of the damage caused by Herr Straußer.

He was listed as 270 out of HS. The JC roster lists him at 286. Either way, he is on the lean side. He ought to have the frame to play at 295+.
I wonder if he was a non-qualifier or went to JC because he didn't have high level offers, which is rare, but happens occasionally.
ETA: He has a nasty streak and looks like he has good knee bend. Huff better clean up his technique or he is going to get A LOT of holding flags. Right now he looks like he is at least as good a tackler as a blocker. -
What class will he be apart of this coming season? Soph?
Is he eligible to play immediately? -
2018? 247 has 2019?
seems like Huff can recruit. getting a CA kid offered by USC... -
I'm going to assume he'll redshirt this year and come in with 3-3 as a RS-Soph.Del_Griffith said:What class will he be apart of this coming season? Soph?

He graduates from JC in December 2018. So unless he went to JC as a full qualifier (rare) he will be part of the 2019 class.Del_Griffith said:What class will he be apart of this coming season? Soph?

I'm waiting for Scott Eklund to confirm.
Will let everyone know if/when it's official. -
Yeah - I fixed it, I meant 'graduating in 2018' - am stoopit.
Anyway, he looks like a wrestler when he plays. He's not the kind of kid where you are like 'MAN WE HAVE TO OFFER THIS KID' - so they are up to something. But tremendously flexible kid. -
In that area and especially that HS (same that J Haener and walk-on kicker P Henry went to) it would actually be extremely likely that he is a full qualifier. It's an extremely affluent area and 90%+ of the kids qualify to go on to 4 year schools.AIRWOLF said:

Still waiting ...
Nothing yet from the guys at Dawgman.
May be a false alarm.
