Henry Roberts?

Sure under a coaching staff like Sark had. I’d say LIPO see what Pete can do with developmentBeerThirty said:is it a foregone conclusion that he is a bust?

I'd say he's a bust until he isn't. Last year, he was a RS So who played in 7 games as a sub, which is probably what we should expect for an average OL. I'll change my mind if he can win a spot inside during fall camp.
-
He got passed by Nick Harris. Then last year he 4th in line at the other G... Kirkland, Watty and Sosebee were all ahead of him.
-
He's a guy who had all the intangibles coming out of high school but never adjusted to the college game. Playing in Bellevue's system didn't help him.
He is still a Tupou candidate but he'll have to beat out Bain or Wattenberg, which doesn't seem likely. -

I think intangibles = white.Dennis_DeYoung said:

We? always get the shitty Bellevue linemen

No. Back in the day, we rightfully wrote guys off early because we sucked. If they couldn’t see the field early it was because they weren’t any good.NeGgaPlEaSe said:

Then Pete came and we saw some guys who we previously thought were terrible actually contribute. Tupuo, Turbin, O’Brien, Perkins, etc.
Having said that, if a player hasn’t contributed on the OL or Buck and is an upperclassmen, they suck. -
He better get on something quick because we need it. PSU game had me so disappointed in our interior OL. DDY and Coker may be satisfied, but I'd say Huff still has a lot to prove on both the recruiting and coaching fronts. Ale? Fish that should jump in the boat before you even cast. Curne? Decent, but not great. I love Mele as a project, but he's at least two years and 30 pounds away.
Nick Harris didn't look any better, Adams looked worse to start, and everybody else mostly held serve. Those guys on the inside better bulk the fuck up and start moving people. -
Not amazing. Powerful, yes. Seems to have a means streak. A lot work with, but a ways to go, IMO.
-
Huff still has to prove it as a coach, but he had a very good year recruiting. Hopefully there will be improvements in his second year in the field. I think it will happen. We should have a good OL next year.RealRhino said:He better get on something quick because we need it. PSU game had me so disappointed in our interior OL. I hope watty and Bain keep sosobbe on the bench next year.RoadDawg55 said:

I feel like the O line did pretty good, especially after Trey got hurt. Small sample size but Huff is off to a good start.
As far as Roberts goes, his biggest contribution to this day is a picture he took with Trey in his underwear getting Jimmy Johns. -

Expecting anything out of Roberts at this point is likely expecting too much
-
Eh, he's been the only shitty one (so far) out of all of the Bellevue OL. Schilling, DeCastro, and Eldrenkamp all had good to great college careers.GrundleStiltzkin said:We? always get the shitty Bellevue linemen

The starting O Line, left to right, will be:
Trey Adams, Luke Wattenburg, Nick Harris, Henry Bainavalu, Kaleb McGary
Our starting O Line is really fucking solid. That line combined with Gaskin and Ahmed should rack up yards and take a ton of pressure off of Browning.
Who the next guys off the bench are is anyones guess. I think Sosebee and Hilbers are probably the next two, both of which are more guard type of players. You'd also think that Henry Roberts SHOULD be in the mix with that group but he hasn't shown anything yet. Other than that it's a bunch of JAGs and redshirt freshman.
We are really fucking thin on the O Line. I think if Trey or Kaleb get hurt that Bain or Watty will move out and we plug Sosebee or Hilbers in at their guard spot. If Sosebee, Hilbers or Roberts could make the jump from JAG to serviceable back up that would be huge. Sosebee is a known commodity but I am holding out hope that Hilbers or Roberts can progress and play up to their physical potential or at the very least, provide some competition at the back up guard spot. -
I forgot Eldrenkamp was WOLVERINES. The other guys went elsewhere, so 81% of my poont stands.GreenRiverGatorz said:

I dunno.... Our? tackles are great, but I'm not so sure about the interior.
Bain looks like a keeper, but he's a RS freshman who's never played a snap. Harris will be playing center for the first time, probably his natural spot, but there's gonna be some growing pains with learning a new position. Wattenburg's promising... but he's not a sure thing by any means.
The overall depth is a flaming hot sack of syphilitic rhino shit.... but Strausser is a GOOD coach!1! -
Pete hasn’t let me down regarding player development. I wouldn’t give up him. Plus don’t forget the 1-2 guys that will come out of nowhere like Nick Harrisguntlove said:I dunno.... Our? tackles are great, but I'm not so sure about the interior.

I dooged on Harris, and I thought C would be his position and hoped he would be a baby Garcia given Harris’ nastiness.
After getting his shit pushed in last year, especially in pass pro, I think he’s a low 3* rated prospect, he is what he is. At C, NTs are going to blast him in pass pro. I’m not knocking him personally, but he made little progress in pass pro last year, and I just don’t see it. -

I think Harris is going to be so-so. There will be a game or two where we will all start to think much more fondly of Coleman Shelton, *cough* Auburn *cough*. -
Freshman and Redshirt Freshman meat is a lot different than Upperclasman meat. In all reality he should be a redshirt frosh this yearAEB said:I dooged on Harris, and I thought C would be his position and hoped he would be a baby Garcia given Harris’ nastiness.

Fixed. Unless you were suggesting he should have been greyshirted.NeGgaPlEaSe said:

I had the pleasure of meeting Henry Roberts father, like no shit, for real. Nice guy, sorry no pics, and yes, I wood. That being said the impression I got was they were hoping for the slow strategy, and education was the main focus for HR. They saw who was on campus and knew it would be a while before he saw the field, I believe he specifically called Trey a monster. When your kid is a monster and you refer to another kid as a monster, that has to say something right? He also said it was really hard to turn down the Stanford education / degree, but felt CP was the most honest upfront recruiter they encountered. Nothing was sugarcoated. So my guess is our? best bet is a fifth year senior moment.

Is it a forgone conclusion that new fish posters take 2 years to lay down 1 descent thread? Pup hit the ground running his very 1st post...then again Pup is unique
